Since this is an incredibly popular game thus far I offer my apologies to those who have posted similar topics. I still have not yet had the time to siphon through the thousands of topics posted because it seems that nearly 1000+ replies accumulate nearly everyday on this forum. So... to those individuals who spend countless hours figuring out the best way to play through the game and with which character class I congratulate you.
As far as RPG's go, I played Diabo II for as long as I can remember due to its replay value, character creation, uniqueness in the skill and talent trees, and most importantly due to its multiplayer factor. Sadly as the years went by more and more people decided to take advantage of the hacking and create characters virtually invincible which greatly detracted from the game in general. For those who actually enjoyed the challege I'm sure it became frustrating. I don't blame Bioware for perhaps wanting to avoid the wanton online hacker annihilation of DA:O with its strictly single player platform but with such an amazing story and kudos to the development team, could we not see a future multiplayer expansion pack, or game, impervious to hacking and crazy mods for the PC?
What I value in a game most is its replay value. Bioware clearly hasn't disappointed anyone with the release of DA:O but how long will it last?

I think..your asking how much replay value the game has after you finish it.
Ive finished it...started 5 new characters who are set at different stages of the game...and l have no intention of playing anything else for many weeks until they all have faced the Final Battle.
And as the DLC starts to come, from titny taste bits to full 4-course meals....the replay value will increase.
So yes, theres plenty of replay vaule.

I've played the game several times over with various character types. I've beat the game as an elf shield/sword warrior, a human shield/sword warrior and have gotten moderately far with a mage and a dual weapon/bow rogue. The specialties, plus the skil trees themselves create a very unique experience for each character you play. Honestly, I think the only thing that made Diablo II fun for me was the fact it was online play after like a month, I started power leveling and PvPing.
Currently I am working on a two handed weapon warrior and it is very differnet from the other things I've done. Like I said, unique experience

If you want to play based on their origins, that means it can be replayed at least 5 times, right?

No you have more than that. I mean you can replay the origins to their normal consequences and reactions or buff them. My first mage was a pure Circle mage.. By that I mean he had no interest in blood magic and thought blood mages should die. My second mage is an evil mage that is interested in blood magic.
I originally thought this game would have limited replayability but after restarting I am amazed at how much fun it is again from a new perspective.

Even so, I could never play as evil characters, shame on me I guess :innocent:

I can choose evil abilities and such, but I never choose the dialogue options that make me appear to be an ass. Maybe its a roleplaying element that I'm covering up my evil to the population
