Ok I'm a level 25 Rogue with the strength and dexterety level 40.  Regular attacks max out at 60's.  I been reading on here for days about these just impossible attack numbers.  I'm a dual wielding rogue elf that's the reason for such a high dexterity.  Also attempted to duplicate items like you do the gold cheat but it doesn't seem to be working for me.  I figured when I got two of the same tomes I'd stack up my stats and hit like everybody else but its not working.  So wow really help?!  lol

Your damage per swing while dual-weilding is quite a bit lower than if you use a single weapon (for obvious reasons), so you're not going to be hitting the numbers a two-hander-weilding (or even sword and board) character will be doing in a single swing, much less what a mage does. It's just the nature of dual-weilding – more frequent, but smaller hits. My level 18 DW warrior currently has a record of 81 damage, and regularly hits for about 40-50 per hit.

As a rogue you should not get strength that high, 20 is enough for good light armor and then take lethality talent and bumb up dex/cunning.

Most builds, that is.  Nothing's universal.

OP:  What weapons are you using?  Going for backstabs?  Working with the dex fix?

Which weapons are you using? Also, personally I much prefer a rogue with higher cunning and the (awesome) lethality feat.

A link to your character's profile page would be ideal in getting people to help :).

I'd have to agree with this. All you really need is strength for armor and nab the Lethality talent as quickly as possible. Also, you'll most likely want to look into picking up a Dex fix, as that will improve your attack strength.

Another note, as I haven't seen your character set-up, would be to increase your crit rate/crit damage with various items. If you've already done this, then the most I can suggest is to find a dex fix and try that out.

If I recall correctly, I believe you are capable of getting crits on backstabbing as well. At least from my observations of the backstab numbers suddenly spiking from one hit and then decreasing to a more consistant output.

How do you link your character's profile page?  I'm VERY new to dragon age.  I bought the game a few days before my birthday (nov 27th) and.  I played through once already as a dual weilding warrior.  I didn't register my game until dec 2 because i obviously didn't know about the dlc for registering it before nov 30th.  *massive fail*

As a melee rogue, you shouldn't have higher Str than 22, and even with 22 I think it's a bit too high - you can easily get those last 2 points from items.

Dexterity, Cunning and Willpower, in that order. That's all you need.

I have my strength so high because in the guide it says that based off what weapons you used is what the attack modifer it bases off of. Like daggers are all dexterity while long swords and axs (which right now I have two long swords equiped) are all strength. Are you guys attacking in big numbers with swords with a small strength number?

Dex doesn't add damage to daggers unless you're using the PC hot fix. Console users are still waiting for a patch that fixes dexterity.

How the hell are you level 25 and yet only have 40 strength/dexterity? Strength will determine damage for everything.

Bows (unless dex fix is implimented.) Swords/Daggers hell, even shapeshifting damage is amplified by strength rather than magic.

The Lethality skill replaces the strength as the modifer for damage. The skill is only available to Rogues. As stated above, get your strength up to wear some armor, but dump points into cunning because that will help a variety of skils and with Lethality it becomes you damage mod.
