[Axolotl Shepard]

 I was trying to romance her, but I just can't get into her character. Why do all you people love her? Like what special trait does she have that makes you want to romance her?

Note: I've romanced a bunch of characters throughout the series. Just not Liara. Once I came here, I was flooded by all the Liara images, blue baby references, and what not. So it made me wonder. Why does everyone love her?

Well, in ME1 she was nice and sweet so it was easy. I appreciate coldness and ruthlessness as well so wasn't bothered when she became harsher in 2 and 3.

She's probably the reason why the galaxy even has a fighting chance after Mass Effect 1.

Were it not for her, Cerberus would not have been able to obtain Shepard's body for the Lazarus Project. She still held onto a glimmer of hope even though the situation was seemingly impossible.

Not to mention she was adorable in Mass Effect 1.

Mass effect 1 she had the most adorable innocence about her. Mass effect 2 she saved your body and was the main reason you are not a reaper husk. mass effect 3 she puts your time capsule together and offers blue babies.
O yea...and she found schematics for the crucible

If you don't want/can't romance her, don't do it. Romance a character you want to romance that you genuinely like.

Some of the things she does in game is just adorable. I think even her friendship moments are pretty good (like the final scene with her where she shows you some memories).

You cannot just "choose" a LI in this game

their character has to grow on you in order to like them.

just choosing a character because everybody else does it stupid.

You have to choose for yourself

My mission since then is to reverse the damage and get some of that me 1 sweetness back. She had to kill her own mother and watched her planet be destroyed. She needs time to heal. My shep is the main for the job.

O yea shes also the shadow broker..which makes her more capable than any squad member not named miranda

You shouldn't. Mind you I romanced her from my first ME1 playthrough and never switched to someone else in any playthrough because she is basically perfect in my book. But if you don't think so then you probably shouldn't try to force it. If you don't 'feel' it then nobody can explain it to you anyway.

I'm with you, OP. I never really got the big fuss about her either, but different strokes and all that. I'm totally smitten with Kaidan this time around, and I have no idea how that happened. It's that damned Raphael Sbarge...

I didn't "choose" Liara as my LI. Initially, I was romancing her and Kaidan and was going to pick Kaidan over her, but my game glitched and didn't give the the confrontation scene. So I was stuck with Liara. However, I didn't hate her, so I decided to give her romance a try. By the time I finished ME2 with LoTSB, I loved Liara. She is sweet, obviously cares for Shepard, awkward yet confident, and she has some amazing character growth throughout the series. I really enjoyed ME3 with her (besides the ending obviously) and I encourage others to give her romance a try. Now I can't bring myself to romance anyone else! Not to mention THOSE EYES.
