She's probably the reason why the galaxy even has a fighting chance after Mass Effect 1.

Were it not for her, Cerberus would not have been able to obtain Shepard's body for the Lazarus Project. She still held onto a glimmer of hope even though the situation was seemingly impossible.

Not to mention she was adorable in Mass Effect 1.

She, Tali and TIM, to be precise.

That's who you should romance, OP.

Yes, TIM is smexy.

No offense people, but Tali had NOTHING To do with saving Shepard. LOLpost!

Didn't say that bro.

Tali gave us the evidence about Saren and Benezia. Without her there wouldn't be a ME2 or ME3 ... oh wait ... damn you Tali!

That is not saving Shepard though as mentioned in the quoted statement. I totally agree the evidence she picked up helped us move the case against Saren along, but it hardly saved Shepard.

Liara wasn't all that great in Mass Effect 1. She's sorta timid and naive, but nothing really special. Her character really starts to develop by Mass Effect 2 and the Shadow Broker DLC, though, where she actually gets a lot more tough, but still maintains that awkward side of herself from time to time.

For a guy character, I'd say she's the second best romance option next to Tali. Far more interesting than Ashley and Miranda (never romanced Jack, but I wasn't much of a fan of her anyway).

I tried to romance him. He just ended up shooting himself.

Yes, purebloods can only have ardat-yakshi children. And ardat-yakshi themselves can't have children. This is why there are still asari, even though before they discovered space travel their race consisted exclusively of purebloods. Sound logic.

Didn't say it was logical, just going by established facts for the universe :-)

Ok an honest question to Liara fans, she's a pureblood right? So Matriarch Benezia is also pureblood? Then doesn't this make Liara an Ardat-Yakshi? So she can't have babies anyway + she will suck our soul ?
Of course this only applies if she/benezia a pureblood

It was never established (as far as I can tell) That Matriarch B is a pureblood, but Liara is due to her parents being B and the bartender at the Coyote Ugly bar in the Cit

I am determined to have fun with this whole "my LI is better than your LI thing".

Call me inquisitive.

Here is what I observe. Ashley fans hate Miranda fans with a passion and vice versa, and then Tali fans hate Liara fans, but not vice versa. You never see many threads saying "OMGZ Liara is better than Tali!", but you will see the random Tali fan in just about every LI related thread saying how much they feel Tali is better than the others. That points to an inferiority complex about your character given some of her fans need to always tout how much they like her better.

Maybe they're just hurt about the content or lack thereof in ME3, or maybe that she can die and now they genuinely feel intimidated by the Liara romance and fans.

To each his own, but I find it laughable that the Tali fans feel the need to do that. It is both sad and hilarious.

Care to break that down for me? I am just curious where this logic comes from?

Tali-Brings you the evidence you need to convince the council that Saren has gone rogue, which in turn means you can get promoted to the rank of spectre, meaning you can hunt down Saren and his allies. Without her there'd be no evidence, no spectre rank for you, no hunting down Saren=Saren/Sovereign succeed in openning the portal for the Reaper fleet, which results in a quick and painful death for our cycle.

Liara-Saves your body from the Collectors, brings it to Cerberus and is therefor one of the reasons you are back in ME2 to save the day once more.

Now, Miranda should be switched with TIM. Yes, Miranda oversaw the Lazarus project, but only thanks to TIM was she part of Cerberus in the first place and only thanks to TIM was there a project in the first place. (this last point is debatable though, the first 2 however are not)

Admittedly, I haven't been all that active in the forums lately (prior to the whole ending debacle), but the last time I checked forums, Tali was the one who was receiving tons of hate, and mostly by Miranda fans. I remember all those character polls (favourite, most hated etc). The comment section was always full of Tali hate and people who defended her.

And yes, I am a bit dissapointed at how they handled Tali in 3, that doesn't mean I would feel intimidated by or feel any hatred towards Liara. I like her, actually. The whole "my LI is better than yours" is pretty stupid anyway. Everyone has their own opinion, and I certainly don't approve of anyone trying to force a character/romance in others people's faces, be it Liaramancers, Talimancers or god knows what.

Pureblood means two Asari parents. It has nothing to do with grandparents. As it is, Aethyta's dad was a Krogan

You upsale Tali's single point of importance and downplay Liara's many points. I am just saying, it is becoming a pattern with Tali fans. Most of Talimancers posts come from an inferiority mentality. S'all I'm sayin.

Uh, no.  You only see Ardak Yakshi's when Pure Bloods mate with purebloods.  So, Liara and Shepard's little blue children would not, in fact, be Ardat Yakshi's.  They would, on the other hand, be 1/8th Krogan, which makes them AWESOME.

This. I want to love Tali, but her fanbase is killing her for me. Almost every time a LI hate thread pops up, it's by a Talimancer. Seriously, guys? You're ruining an otherwise great character with your creepy devotion.

Although, Thanemancers deserve to hate. You all truly got ripped off.

I believe it's that being pureblood increases your chance of being an Ardat-Yakshi, not guarantees it.

I'll make it simple for you: because they're the romanceable aliens who are quasi-human in appearance, as opposed to the two lead female humans. Thus a "rivalry" develops more easily.

And maybe I'm not a model for everyone, but I don't "hate" Liara or her fans, I just think that Tali had superior writing backing her up and is therefore a more interesting, believable characetr.

I was trying to romance her, but I just can't get into her character. Why do all you people love her? Like what special trait does she have that makes you want to romance her?

Note: I've romanced a bunch of characters throughout the series. Just not Liara. Once I came here, I was flooded by all the Liara images, blue baby references, and what not. So it made me wonder. Why does everyone love her?

Well, for me, it's that I've got a thing for the bookish type.  Librarians, Scientists, Archeologists, so in Mass Effect 1, I thought she was cute and adorable.  In LotSB though, she's in full Action Librarian Mode, and humina.  But honestly, she's probably the most developed Romance storyline.  The lengths she went through for Shepard are kind of amazing.  Also, she's a 1/4 Krogan.  (My Shepard secretly wants to teach her how to headbutt things).

Yeah, this.

Anyway, the biggest fanbase war was between Tali and Miranda, late last year. It was revelaed that Tali got a squad slot due to fan popularity, and all the Miranda fans got angry and assumed that it was her spot that had been taken. The rage over that was glorious. Much flaming and trolling ensued.

No, according to the codex and the wiki, daughters of pureblood create AY (Genetic defect) mating with anyone, but on that same logic I am pretty sure that if two purebloods mate you will definetly get AY (like playing Roulette with a revoler loaded with 6 bullets)

Where id the 1/8 krogan from? Has you FemShep been tapping Wrex/Wreve/Grunt and polluting your pool?
