After reinstalling Dragon age origins recently and playing through a new PC , i have become stuck on the scene where your party is ambushed at the camp - the entire cinematic of the dragon flying around happens , then my screen turns to black for a few seconds ( i can still see the dragon age cursor then ) and then it crashes to my desktop
Any ideas - it is only for this specific sequence?
Any help appreciated

Does it repeatedly do that? There are several things that can cause my game to crash: holy smite, paralysis explosion, and entering camp for the first time after the landsmeet has started. I usually just save frequently. You might have a problem with your computer's video card.  You could also lower the video quality until you get past this part of the game.

Sir Pounce raises some good points. Also, if you have any mods, those might be causing issues. If lowering your graphics settings doesn't help, please reply back with your system specs, and we can troubleshoot more.

Thanks for the advice
It has done it repeatedly for at least 10 times
I do have mods but i turned them off and it doesn't change them
I have also attempted lowering my specs ,and that doesn't work

My specs for my laptops are as following
HP Pavilion dv6
AMD PHENOM II N620 Dual Core 2.8 Ghz Processors
4GB of Memory (3.74 usable )
64 bit OS

Normally I can run the game with mods on medium to -medium high settings.

You might want to try doing a clean uninstall/reinstall of the latest video driver. There's a link on how to do it in safe mode below, in my signature line.

One other issue... not all mods can be disabled easily. Mods which are installed using the DAZIP utility (as opposed to simply being placed in the override folder) may mess with other game system files... hence instability. The only solution in those cases is to back up your saves and reinstall the game... though this require you to "force load" old saves due to missing mods. Messy.

As Raen said, un-/re-install. You get to keep your character(s) and save(s).
Just "Force Load" when it tells you you don't have certain mods installed.

Um... I don't know if this might work for everyone, but I was able to bypass this crash when I took Morrigan into my active party instead of Wynne. O_o
