However, I've played over 200 gold matches at this point and guarantee that there are players with N7 of 400 who have less experience than I do, and likewise, players with N7 lower than mine who have probably played twice as many gold games.

N7 really is meaningless unless you actively promote and like re leveling characters.

Depends, unless you get a lot of respecs card or skill every character like you want him to be in the first try, you need to promote a few times. I got to a N7 Rating of about 220 just by trying out most classe. Sometimes I had to promote because my build didn't work out like I wanted. 

I'd say after 400 or 500 it becomes pretty pointless since you'll know the best/working builds anyway. I'll still do it, just out of fun .

65% of our kills were from tech bursts, and the other 35% were from phalanx & disciple.

The guy that did it with me was a random, and he was only N7 80 or so using the same loadout as me almost. I outscored him and he used 2 rockets.

If you want to solo the damned level then MAKE A PRIVATE GAME and go play with yourself. This is supposed to be a team game but some players are playing it like deathmatch instead. All I can say is THANK GOD FF IS OFF.

N7 score =/= you played a ton. As I mentioned, there are plenty of ppl at N7 of 120 or 150 who have played hundreds of gold games. Likewise, I ran into a N7 256 guy last night who never played a single gold game before.

N7 is no indication of experience, it's simply an indication of how many character you promoted. In fact, you could get to N7 of 4000 or more if you wanted without playing a single game just by buying packs.

Yeah, i know what OP's talking about. I've been in games where people with n7 ratings as low as 40-50 are better players and squad-mates and outscore higher ranked n7 players (like a 45 ranked player leading in a game with 2 n7's higher than 300 )

Also you can kinda tell who the AFK leechers are.... when they join a match and just sit there until the end then run in the circle.

Those are some of the exceptions, but in general it means we played more.

And the fish that got away was THIS BIG.

The screenshot doesn't prove anything about how skilled you are, because anyone could produce that screenshot using the method we have described.

Decoy works nearly 100% of the time against Geth as long as you are intelligent about where you stand and where you put the Decoy.  It's not hard, and it doesn't cut into your Energy Drain spam much to refresh it twice a minute.

thats not really impressive at all. This is a PvE game ... anybody can learn in time how to beat a couple of AI enemies with predicatbale moves, spawns, and attack patterns.

Uhm... no.

The higher the N7, the more the player has promoted.  At best, N7 is a rough rating of how long someone's played, and due to the fact that many players don't bother to promote, it's a poor rating of even that.  Heck, I've seen an N7 500 who said he's never been able to beat Gold before. 

N7 ranking is nothing even approaching a competitive ranking system, and pretending it is is disingenuous.  You don't actually need to accomplish anything at all other than playing continuously to achieve a high N7 ranking, and literally anyone is capable of that.

I've soloed to extraction on Gold as the following classes:
-Human Soldier (v Cerberus)
-Krogan Soldier (v Cerberus)
-Salarian Engineer (v Geth)
-Human Sentinel w/ respec card (v Reapers)
-Asari Adept (v Cerberus and Reapers)
-Asari Vanguard (v Cerberus)
-Salarian Infiltrator (v Cerberus and Geth)
-Quarian Infiltrator (v Geth)
-Human Vanguard (v All)

I'd happily post vids if I had any way to record footage from my Xbox. As is I've only heard of methods that rely on expensive cards and such. If anyone has any suggestions I will gladly do new solo runs of Gold and post videos.

Infiltrators were using Black Widow, Vanguards, Salarian Engineer, and Asari Adept were using Carnifex, Human Sentinel and Soldiers were using a Geth Plasma Shotgun.  Oh yeah, and the Asari Adept switched the Carnifex for a GPS against Reapers.

I would happily take that challenge as an Asari Adept or a Human Vanguard with only one player.  Maaaybe Salarian Infiltrator, except that I don't like to snipe vs Reapers and would want to change my weapons (and obviously can't on random).

N7 rating I agree doesn't mean jack. For me, it's just because I can't stand wasting exp. So I always promote when I hit 20. Well, except this week because of the event, will have 6 to promote when it launches. =D What weapons you have sometimes make a bigger difference(bronze/silver mainly) I played with like an N7 84 and MFer, had a Widow VI.

I haven't even unlocked a damn rare Sniper Rifle of any kind, and I'm N7 388!

I soloed Gold Reapers with two separate human classes (Vanguard and Sentinel).  I actually prefer them against reapers to Asari and Salarians (which I prefer against Cerberus).

Actually it works on all maps, I just did it on FB: White because it takes less time since it is smaller.

I can post one on Glacier, Giant, and Dagger if you want, but then you will say those are too easy as well.

Actually my fastest time was with a Turian Soldier. (And we all know his other 2 abilities are not OP....)

Some people don't need Salarians and Asari to do well.

The only reason I used the Salarian is because when you only have 2 people and a very low equipment reserve it is nice to have a way to get shields back for free. (I only had 1 rocket, and 2 survival packs at the time.)

I plan on sitting on 120, as I see no point in promoting. I don't need the extra war assets, and I'd rather not customize 4 characters all over again. And N7 rank is meaningless.

I'm at 150. I'm a competent gold player. I would never judge anyone based on their N7 (as long as it was above around 90ish), but would instead play with them first.

My N7 is under a 100 and I dont have any problems completing gold runs with highest score, and i revive players when its safe to do so. I just dont promote characters and i play mostly my SI or SE.

Bring on all players. I've carried teams and have been carried. You can be good, bad, or Hanar for all I care. Every player can do good or bad for a mulitude of reasons. Enough whining about revives, strategies, and leveling. Play the game or switch it off.

there is no point in promoting a character at all, unless you want to show off your N7 rank, or boost your SP score. If you recieved a credit incentive, then maybe i'd more more keep to do it, but as things stand now, my lvel 20 Engineers and Infiltrators are never getting promoted
