And same goes for low-level N7 players. Hence - N7 level means squat.

Yes, it could be, but a low N7 level shows lack of experience, that's an important factor, let's not live in lollipop street.

They should start in bronze, is a nice practice ground, learn the trenches tricks and later join the real action...like everybody did.

I agree but provided that you're we're talking about people with for example N7 19 and character level 19. I agree. But if we're talking about somebody with N7 65 and char.lvl 20 - sorry that may not be the case because some people just don't give a **** about N7 and play that one particular race/class/character that they may rock with.

I feel awful about this, and it's going to be terribly elitist, but it's the truth.

As a decision factor to play a game with someone, N7 40 on gold is about my minimum. Silver I'm always willing to give anyone a go- just had a three games with what started as an N7 8 Lvl. 8 soldier. He performed fairly for his obvious inexperience- he died a fair amount, and often out of the way a bit, but not too bad and garnered around 15k-20k a game. He was trying, and he was getting better. That's the way the game works.

For gold, I do expect someone to have at least a modicum of experience with the game. If you've only ever brought one class to 20 and never promoted it, then you do not have that yet- you know only one thing about the game, only one viewpoint and one way of approaching the problem. I'm symplifying here- there are many things about the game you can learn and know, but the breadth of actual experience is still relatively low. Different classes play differently, and it's important to actually feel that yourself. Beyond 40, N7 rating means far less than if you have a mic on.

That being said, I do have certain expectations of different N7 levels. I don't consider them bad things, but I want to go into a match with an idea of what's going to happen. The benchmark for experience is 120 (obviously). This player has most likely levelled all classes to twenty and has had a fair opportunity to learn the mechanics of the game. I will look at their loadouts, and probably see something along the lines of what I expect. However, unless you have a truly impressive arsenal, I'm not going to expect you to wow me. You will do your job, and we will most likely be successful.

When the N7 Level gets a bit higher, I tend to expect more out of players. I will look at their loadout more critically- they must have options. I expect them to have tweaked their builds to best match their playstyle. I expect them to have mastered their class. If a N7 120 Adept or Infiltrator are scoring about the same as my QE, that's one thing- that's in line with my expectations. If a N7 400+ one isn't outscoring it by a fair margin, then that's a problem. There are definitely different brackets of classes for points, and good players will almost always conform to. A truly good High DPS spammer and large burst damage player should lead the boards over debuff and support characters that are enabling them.

Yes, I know you can tweak with respec cards, but you don't get those like crazy until you've got a bunch of rare stuff already. Maybe more than anything else, I expect the players with higher N7 levels to be more curious about the game than someone who is willing to wait for a free respec instead of putting in a couple hours work to learn the build from the ground up. It's probably wildly unfair, but I'd be lying if I said differently.

I really do look at loadouts a lot, but all other things being equal, I expect more of a higher N7 level. That's the truth, and I am a bit ashamed.

lol this dumb thread made it 6 pages so far.

all you people so worried about how this or that player has a high number. when all it takes is team work... and common courtesy. i will take a N7 1 or N7 900 as long as they do teamwork. beat a gold round the other day with someone using a lvl 4 adept. guess what the team only had to revive him once because he played as a team. cleared it just about as fast a having 4 lvl 20's. also his N7 was only in the teens.

btw about 75% of the people i end up with in randoms on bronze/silver i could swear a door nob could play better. because they run around rambo style screwing up the spawns and making the mission more of a pain. im generally 20k-30k points higher than everyone else and i even stop and check the flanks all the time.

most of you N7 80 to 120 guys i swear are retarded too. yet you come to the forums and complain about how some players have higher scores. most likely because they are owning face and your rambo ranger tactics are getting you killed all the time. then you wonder "why wont they revive me?".

its simple you:
- go to the center/opposite side of the map and screw up the spawns.. i wont revive you.
- stand infront of me constantly fully aware i cant see no matter where i go... i wont revive you.
- constantly try to steal my cover... i wont revive you.
- dont help with the objectives... i wont revive you.
- constantly screwing up my or other teammates combo set ups... i wont revive you.

i will revive and support you if you are being a team player, using common sense and courtesy, sticking with the team(or doing teams of 2) , or going for the objective (but not rambo style) .

Coop means Cooperate think about it the next time your getting mad, maybe you are the problem.
If you are not the problem then obviously you have bad player(s) with you, regardless of N7 number.

i would post my N7 rank but then it would be all flame and no brains coming after me.

n7 rating doesnt mean squat unless as some people have stated there n7 level is really low and even then it doesnt mean anything if they are just good players and only use a few classes. and for all the people saying that you can outperform anyone else but your epeen back in your pants. your not impressing anybody on these forums thats for sure and it just makes you look stupid.
