At least they make good games with good endings and actually listen to fans. Can't wait for Diablo 3 so i can get my mind off ME3.

They also know a winning formula and stick to it. Making adjustments as necessary. Making major changes halfway through a franchise always upsets people.

And while story isn't so important, I wonder how fans would react if Blizzard killed off Raynor AND Kerrigan/BroodMother/Queen of Blades?

Wouldn't this be common? Millions people bought MW3 in the first week but since everyone has it the number is bound to go down in week 3.

If you can show this is truly unprecedented in the industry then it means a lot.

3.5 Mill shipped doesn't mean 3.5 mill sold as theres probably still loads on shelves. What I mean is there are 3.5 million copies available in the channel at stores.

That figure does not include digital copies. On non consolle platforms digital are usually a bit over 50% of sales. The problem with ME3 is that its an Origin title only. I think that hurt digital sales a lot.

Sadly, Diablo 3 is published by EA's significant other in the douche department. So... I'm SOL.

for today.... even activision is better than EA.

ACTIVISION DOES NOT OWN BLIZZARD!

Sorry for the caps, but I wanted to make my point across. Why do so many still believe this?

Vivendi owns Blizzard and Blizzard got merged with Activision, but they act as two seperate entities.

If Kotick came to Blizzard and demanded that Blizzard charge players money for respeccing, Blizzard can tell him to take a hike, and there wouldn't be a thing Kotick can do about it.

Blizzard = We ship titles when they are finished.
EAbioware = They get a hard date 18 month before publication. Release at any cost, even if the games are not finished like Dragon Age 2 and ME3.

Sad :(
I love Bioware games.

Its because most people bought it on the backs of good work of the other 2 games. not on the merits of the game standing on its own.

This is disgusting.

Not that ME 3 isn't selling as well as it should (99% is the best game ever IMO) but that Bioware ignores MORE evidence that they made a mistake.

What's it going to take for these guys to admit fault?

It's actually quite troubling to look at . It makes me wonder why their particular analysts haven't reconsidered tweaking the ending significantly to even take the easy route out of IT theory like some articles suggested . They're already losing a significant portion of their fanbase which will trickle out in future sales . Not to mention outlets such as Amazon will realize that they don't want as many copies of their next game as they have now .

Global total so far:
ME1: 2.49m
ME2: 2.73m
ME3: 2.14m

I don't see how this is bad for a game that's been out only a few months especially when Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 has gone through a lot of sales like cross promotion with Dragon Age, Steam and Origin sales. You also have to consider that people are switching more to digital sales and that ME3 has a secondary revenue stream from the multi-player packs. There are people who has spent more on packs than they have on the main game. Another thing to consider is that, the Ashes DLC is only present on the collector's edition instead of the main game so I would bet that a greater proportion of retail sales would be of the collector's edition.

But overall, I think it's the microtransactions from multi-player that is making a lot of money from EA and Bioware. Because of the multi-player, the longevity of the game is much much longer and they have a continuous revenue stream. I don't understand why people keep underestimating the revenue that microtransactions can bring but for a long of games, it's a lot so much so that they can sell the price of the main game for free.

It's tanking harder than DA2 at this rate.

People underestimating word of mouth should take a look at Titanic and Avatar. Hype alone doesn't get you those billions.

Bioware has something special cooking. Companies never take risks because people over react.

If you look at UK sales, ME3 went up another spot.
