Im also not up for any redesigned or streamlined game play.

Yeah, the reapers would have to be a whisper if mentioned at all. Given that we spent three games trying to defeat them and could only defeat them in *that* particular way, it'd be nice if they didn't really harp on the subject for too long and just decided to move forward on to whatever they decide is next.
And boo to the streamlining already present. Any further and it might as well be Call of Duty, as a previous poster mentioned.

Any time, I enjoy a good speculative discussion quite a bit.TheHoneyRuns wrote...

Well... sh*t. That's pretty much the entire situation in a nutshell. It's not depressing so much as it's daunting, and not with the possibilities ahead but rather with the lack thereof. I really appreciate the rationality you and AMmayhem have approached the subject with, it's cathartic. Thanks, honestly.
If there was a bit more discussion here on the forums and just a fraction less despair, it'd be much easier to swallow such a bitter pill. But who knows, maybe the guys throwing heaps of despair around really are giving Hudson and crew pause for thought.
Separately, yeah, completely forgot about the Old Republic, you're right. They're branching out into MMO's, who knows what's next.
I don't begrudge everybody else's focus on the endings, I just wish they wouldn't derail every topic into the same things over and over again; lord knows this forum moves fast enough that you don't need to derail something to kill it.
Honestly I'd rather they just made a new franchise rather than try to fit something into the ME universe since Mass Effect for me has always been about Shepard and his crew more so than the universe. The setting existed really just to give them something to do in it but it was about them and not it. Without them it's not the same and if it's going to be like that then why not go for a complete change of venue?

It's not worth another dollar at the moment, and I will openly mock anyone still prepared to parade around in ME gear. Not viciously, or anything, just subtley, for instance noting that anyone wearing something like that might come to a bad end.

didn't they say they would only do prequels from now on?

Despite everything, I'd shell out for a Mass Effect themed RTS, especially if it went the Empire at War route of combining space and ground battles. Maybe in the Krogan Rebellions; I'd love to play a turian general battling the krogan over Menae, or a krogan warlord fighting vicously to defend Shiagur over Canrum.

KotOR has a canon plot, doesn't ruin replaying the game...
