It was rougher in the first several pages, but that was a while ago now.

Am I to assume this offer stands for all of us?? I will be there Monday if it does.

As long as you don't mind NOT talking shop, then yes. Let me know when you're coming and I'll see what I can do to accommodate it.

Tell you the truth, there'd have to be an exception -- vague commiseration and sympathy with the general situation, which I can actually give instead of mere empathy. And, I'd need a job with better pay and to have had it for about a year prior. ... and possibly hockey tickets. But I'd get those by myself for myself so don't worry ;)

Mr. Woo, get off these forums and go play the series from start to finish. You will be doing yourself a favor.

Actually, maybe stop just before the finish.

no, we need him to experience what we went through

Doesn't he already know? I doubt you'd get the predicted reaction.
If you go into the series with zero expectations that it'll turn out to be anything other than a quagmire of pointless and total death and darkness it probably won't have the same impact.

perhaps not, but its worth a shot

For the most part, the angry part of the thread seems to be gone.  Now we're just talking.

Thats what you think.

My girlfriend just bought me a maccas Apple Pie - then proceeded to eat 9/10's of it in front of me.

I don't see why you could not get such given the ME team stole one of your ogres from DA and put it in ME.

At one point, there was a Krogan head mounted on the wall in Chateau Haine (the castle from Mark of the Assassin). I think it was, eventually, removed, but the asset still exists somewhere.

Quite interesting, I did not know that. I do remember once joking about on the DA2 section having tophies in DA2 of which could mount on the wall to put off some of those pesky thieves and bandits around town. Maybe mounted on spike outside your residence, a dragons head I believe was what I mentioned.

If you are paying for my time to do that, I would be happy to. Failing that, however, you'll have to be happy with me deciding my own priorites and getting to the games when I can. Gotta warn you, though, I'm not cheap and I like pie. Lots of pie.

Actually, I think this is doable.  Heck, we got you guys tons of cupcakes.

It would be nice to have a developer who understands just what this does to someone who is heavily invested in the series.

Let's talk numbers.

Using a strawman like that will only serve to prove my point.  But let's continue:

I thought the same as you about the control/synth route - but that is just merely speculation(and a really cheesey one that supports a "happy ending" that isn't artsy apparently) and contrary to a popular saying that has sprung up from this whole ordeal speculation is not what everyone wants.

It's somewhat speculative, but based on things we can logically infer from what we've seen first hand in the games.  Any ending to anything will have some degree of speculation involved unless the medium spells everything out for us.  Mass Effect has never needed to spell everything out for us.

If this series is to continue, it will have to have some sort of canon version of the ending, you can't just hide if the Reapers died or not, or if everyone is half robot or not.  This whole idea of speculation DOES NOT WORK for this franchise, and this sh*tstorm proves it.

A ****storm in and of itself never proves anything.  Furthermore, you seem to be taking issue with the fact that there are varying conclusions to the trilogy, but we already knew to expect that going in.  I get what you're saying, but you're touching on a broader subject of sequels that I honestly haven't really formed an opinion on yet.

My initial statement remains, call it whatever debating term you wish.

Things have always been shown to us and the consequences.. except now we have to speculate the outcomes of every decision we've made.

And this particular sh*tstorm is very telling about the condition of this game and franchise, if you wish to argue otherwise, well have fun with that.

Finally, if you haven't taken into consideration about the "broader subject of sequels" then you really have not thought too much about the ending of ME3 apparently, for their consequences weigh heavily on any events post Shepard, unless they will never go past ME3's timeline and go purely the prequel route, in which case , count me out.

I hope you win that argument.

That would be on a par with the Kents and various other Superman refferences in Origins.

We do enjoy the geeky easter eggs.

Thank you for taking the time to answer so many of these posts, guys!

I have one question, if you are able to answer it. Before the release of Mass Effect 3, Casey Hudson is quoted as saying:

"...At this point we’re taking into account so many
decisions that you’ve made as a player and reflecting a lot of that
stuff. It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings,
where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got
ending A, B, or C.....The endings have a lot more sophistication and
variety in them.”

Was Mr. Hudson aware that the endings are, as they stand now, an A, B, or C choice? Or are we missing something here? Is there a behind the scenes mechanism that makes these endings more than just the A, B, or C? It seems to me, that this is exactly what they are.

The game is truly awesome, it really is. But the ending as it stands is entirely disheartening. And I don't feel this way because it wasn't a happy ending. I feel as if the gameplay mechanics that made ME what it is as a trilogy, were neglected in the final scenes of the game.

Again, thanks for taking the time to answer as many questions as you can.

hell, no, i reject that on principle alone, why should he get paid to do something WE did for ourselves.

I want him to go through the exact same course that we did. To pay him would negate the whole purpose of the experiment, because he would be doing for a pay check, not to see how it feels.

I find it interesting that the BioWare guys would bring attention to a thread like this with their BIOWARE stamp unless they meant to.. they haven't responded so much to any other threads..

I saw Stan responding and thought to myself, 'Self, that looks interesting' so I hopped in. At least in the ME forums, I tend to stick to a single thread at a time because it moves so bloody quickly, not to mention that, not being on the ME team, I can only offer vague generalities and confusing statements. It's a little different with DA because I can have discussion with a lot more meat to them, but don't take our participation in any particular thread as a sign of anything more than 'that looks like a thread I want to participate in'. We're doing this on our own time, after all.

I'm mostly guilty of wanting any sign I can possibly find. I understand that the bigwigs at BioWare aren't all sitting at a roundtable going, "HMM. THIS THREAD ON THE FORUMS IS INTERESTING. MR. WOO? MR. EPLER? DROP EXTREMELY VAGUE AND/OR SUBTLE HINTS AT.. SOMETHING." That would be silly. Yeah.. in retrospect, my comment was quite silly.

Can I ask you a question, though? I don't know what you know, but from what you DO know, are the guys at BioWare taking us seriously? More than just statements to placate us? How much do they even care? I want to believe they still care a lot, they're Bioware, after all..
