I believe it's between page 30-35 if you want to get specific but since you don't like that one I shall find you another.

Wait, you are basing your entire argument on something that took place a month ago, here, thought I'd do your work for you.

Funny part is I just read through those pages and the person using the worst language is a guy telling people to buy the game and not believe the leaks.Image IPB

Funny part for me is I said I believe it was those pages. Damn good of me too have a memory that remembers that far back.

In that case, my counter-offer would be for you to ship an award-winning AAA game trilogy and moderate their online community so you can "go through the exact same course that we did." I mean, without going through that, how we trust any argument you make? how you have any basis by which to make any argument? ;)

Personally, I think it's possible to "walk a mile in someone else's shoes" without physically putting on their shoes and walking an actual mile. We can imagine and simulate much of it based on prior experience and our freedom of expression.

actually, its funny you mentioned it, I did work on an award winning title, an MMO to be specific, you might of heard of it, called EvE Online. worked as a QA Lead and worked with the developers all the time.

I can send you a resume if you don't believe me. ^_^

Edit: and a phone number to verify my employment..

Stanley, John, thank you so much for discussing with us in this thread. Even though I came in here for the lols and move on additude, I've been reading most of the thread and both of your replies to everyone here. Insightful to say the least.

Now I'm sure you can account for times that i've been a rabid entitled fan, but I hope I can ask you both a question and hear your opinions:

What do you guys think about the Indoctronation Theory that has been moving around this forum? I'm sure if not all the details, both of you have read the ground work; "Shepherd is indoctronated when Harbinger shoots his LAZAR at him during the ground attack, and the remaining ending is Shepherd battling the Reapers for control".

Can I ask you a question, though? I don't know what you know, but from what you DO know, are the guys at BioWare taking us seriously? More than just statements to placate us? How much do they even care? I want to believe they still care a lot, they're Bioware, after all..

Ray Muzyka released a statement to the community. RAY, one of the company's co-founders and currently an EA Senior Vice-President and BioWare Label GM! How much more seriously do you want to be taken?

Why must he use catchphrases like "artistic integrity"? That doesn't sound like taking us seriously, in fact it appears to be the exact opposite.

Thanks for all the responses Stanley, it's been an interesting read. And I don't know if it means anything coming from me, but I want to apologize on behalf of the people that sent you hate mail. It's stupid, wrong, and has no place in a civilized discussion or argument.

While I appreciate the sentiment, no one needs to apologize on behalf of anyone else. It is enough for me that all y'all look to your own behaviour and lead by example in our community, encouraging others to do the same. As long as you guys continue with the kind of discussion we've been having here, as long as you keep your expectations reasonable and your arguments civil, I am satisfied.

The ME folks care. Quite a lot, I'd wager - many of them have invested more time into this franchise than anything else in their professional careers. Now, here's where it gets tricky - I can't say what that means in terms of what you'll see in the future. I really, really don't want to speak out of turn and say more than that, because, well, I don't know their plans. But I can say with confidence that they care about their fans, and care about how you feel about the game.

If the DA folks care too, then you care about me, and I want you to make sure that if Shale shows up in DA3 that she gets the best cutscenes.

I expect your personal attention on it.

And if the ending turns out to be as horrible as ME3, you should sneak her in at the last minute and have her squish the antagonist. Throw a pigeon into its face or something, and she can kill two birds with one stone.

Am I to assume this offer stands for all of us?? I will be there Monday if it does.

As long as you don't mind NOT talking shop, then yes. Let me know when you're coming and I'll see what I can do to accommodate it.

I am bringing more cupcakes.

If this one doesn't satisfy your needs then I dunno wut to do. The forums go to fast for me to grab the threads and posting history doesn't go back far enough.

So wait, now you're taking a thread describing the ending of the game in one word and comparing to a personal attack on Retakers?  How are the two even remotely comparable?

I'm mostly guilty of wanting any sign I can possibly find. I understand that the bigwigs at BioWare aren't all sitting at a roundtable going, "HMM. THIS THREAD ON THE FORUMS IS INTERESTING. MR. WOO? MR. EPLER? DROP EXTREMELY VAGUE AND/OR SUBTLE HINTS AT.. SOMETHING." That would be silly. Yeah.. in retrospect, my comment was quite silly.

Hah, yes. Exactly like that.

I'd say 'I came up with it first!', but all you'd have are my word and whatever half-remembered drunken ramblings I expressed during ME2's development. Though in my version, the probe used mechanical spiders to gather resources and I pictured someone walking up to a pod only to have one launch itself at them.

Stanley, I know this "clarification" stuff isn't your fault, but can you forward our collective message of wanting change, not clarification to those who maybe can do something about it? I ask because I noticed you and John are actively posting right now and figure I may as well try.

For the record, I don't expect a change that perfectly satisfies me, or anyone else. But I don't wanna pay for DLC that would suffice as a forum post (clarification) and the community at large doesn't either.

I would rather all the little guys who worked on the game come in here and let us know they support us. Don't really care about some big VP who probably has grown away from the fans because of money. I can't say that for sure, don't know the guy, but that's the way of the world isn't it?

I know it sounds silly but that's how I feel.

My initial statement remains, call it whatever debating term you wish.

I called it what it was, a strawman, and my point still stands.

Things have always been shown to us and the consequences.. except now we have to speculate the outcomes of every decision we've made.

Yes but there are logical conclusions we can come to based on the large amount of information we're given.  It's not as open-ended as you say it is.

And this particular sh*tstorm is very telling about the condition of this game and franchise, if you wish to argue otherwise, well have fun with that.

Individual statements in the "storm"  are telling of those things, but a full-on reactionary outcry in and of itself is not.  And if I wasn't having fun I wouldn't be posting here ;)

Finally, if you haven't taken into consideration about the "broader subject of sequels" then you really have not thought too much about the ending of ME3 apparently, for their consequences weigh heavily on any events post Shepard, unless they will never go past ME3's timeline and go purely the prequel route, in which case , count me out.

So I can't judge the endings on their own merit, I have to go by the standards of hypothetical sequels?  That's a line of reasoning I cannot get behind.

Well it all boils down to logic, i don't like yours and thats why you like the endings and I don't. At the end of a trilogy i don't want to speculate the ending, i actually want to see it, (and apparently BioWare is conceding that fact and will be delivering) and i want actual choice, not RGB garbage that shares 95% of the same cutscene with minor changes and a color swap.  It was lazy, period.

Logically you could infer what would happen after the end of the Arrival DLC into ME3, why couldn't you do it now.

And i'm done, have fun.
