It's not an attack. I responded to your state that was an attack against what I said becaue you don't have an actual arguement to offer other then reverting to the standard "its broken because I think so arguement".

And it does matter whos ending it is beacuse at this point we have two outcomes:
1. Biowares original ending.

2. The "fan" demanded ending.

To which the "fan" ending from what I have read on the forums equates to nothing more then a happy ending. 3 explanations and bam the original ending works. How well do you think that will be recieved on the forums if Bioware goes that route?

Do you also think deception needs not be changed?

Wait, you're texting us from your phone, on the toilet?  Is this some sort of satire?  Is this thing on?

Mr. Woo

I think it would help the situation of somebody assositated with BioWare specifically stated,

"We understand x, y and z are issues for all of you. We can't promise that we will rectify all of these, because we still have a desire to remain loyal to the vision we set forth with when first creating the game. However we are trying our best to do so that we can satisfy all parties involved"

Just give us something that explicitly states that BioWare actually understands what our issues with the ending are. That will go a long way to building more trust with all of us.

In all fairness to BioWare, their GM did come out and say something similar. Paraphrasing, but keeping with the generally condescending tone of his statement:

"We understand a very tiny group of people are whining and don't like the ending, despite the fact that critics and anyone with brains believes that the ending is utterly brilliant...because it is. But we're looking at clarifying it for the whiners because they were clearly too stupid to understand the incredibly artistic ending we developed."

So, basically, they've flat out told us that they'll "clarify" for us without changing a damned thing from the A, B, or C ending they gave us. The only upside is that they like lying, so perhaps we'll get more variety with the endings once the DLC comes out.

To quote Shakespere, "what's done is done."  'Some' people liked the ending.  While I admit it likely wasn't the majority, Bioware HAS to keep that in mind.

The problem is they have alienated a large percentage of their loyal fans, and they are formulating a plan to remedy that.

Of course, the pre-release quotes are pretty damning, but, to quote Obi-Wan Kenobi, "...from a certain point of view" they can be seen as having a varitey of outcomes.  Of course, 'most' (myself included) would disagree with that.  What we were led to believe and what really happened were quite different.

Myself, I don't want to worry so much about the nitpicks about he said/she said.  We didn't like the ending, it needs to change.   They have heard that.  Hopefully, they find a way to retain us as customers by remedying the situation in a generally acceptable manner.  But we have to be aware of the spot they are in, they have to respond to everyone, not just the majority (most likely) who didn't like the ending.

Now I have a question, but it's not exactly mass effect related. My toilet is clogged, should I pour liquid plumber, pour bleach down the drain, or just hope it goes away? Or do you think I should call a professional?

Plunge it the best you can.  I'm talking a good 15 minutes of plunging.  Do not mix liquid plumber and bleach, that's bad.  If you can't get it unclogged with plunging call a professional, as liquid plumber is worthless.

My name is Commander Shep and I do not endorse liquid plumber.

I, for one, may or may not have seen the Miranda romance enough I can recite some of the dialogue from memory, and yes, have romanced everyone multiple times. Suppose that does not say much on my priorities but I stand by it being time well spent. Had I not taken to writing more in recent years, I likely would have completed the games more.

With all this in mind, John. I must ask, which have been your favorite romances in both ME and DA?

I really enjoyed the Garrus romance in ME2 - it was tender and believable in all the right ways, and his awkwardness just made it better. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the others - but that was probably my favourite.

As for DA? I liked Isabela. She was fun, and I liked that it was obvious that the 'devil may care' attitude was, to a large degree, a way to keep herself from ever being hurt. Though I do still have a soft spot for Leliana - she was my Warden's love.

Much as I love Garrus, I simply cannot separate him as my bro, even playing as Femshep. He always feels like that awesome friend, yet it always remains platonic. Tali is similar in many respects and why I do not have any kept files where I have romanced her, shocking as that may be. Personally, I rather fancied Miranda. You were able to witness a softer side of her she seems desperate to both hide and reveal all at the same time.

DA we have similar tastes. Leliana always struck me as intriguing, although Alistair is hilarious in his own rate. I have to finish DA2 myself but am likely continuing with Isabella. I always did have a thing for sass and an edge.

I miss all the fun :( But I'm glad they came around. I read through what they were saying and it's sad that people were being rude to them at the beginning.

@Bathaius They didn't alienate anyone. From what we know, they're only explaining and clarifying the endings. They're not changing anything.

Tough call. I enjoy them both for different reasons - DA for the scope, ME for the feel. It seems vague, and that's because it's hard to articulate what I enjoy about both franchises.

Because as much as people will threaten to leave the community, to never buy another BioWare product again, to never listen to thing we say again, there is a shred of hope that many in the community will hang onto. Now matter how demoralized people get, no mater how angry and frustrated they may feel, they really, really, really, really, really want to hear that their issues have been "fixed."

At the moment, however, the wounds are too large and too deep, so they scour all of BioWare's comments in an effort to find either those comments that keep their hope alive and/or those that they feel justify their furstration, hatred, or anger.

though it may seem contrary, this is a testament to how much our game has affected our fans and how much they care about our game and the franchise, and we can't (and don't) blame them for that.

Holy ****. You do actually get it. Perhaps that shred of hope some of us have is not misplaced after all.

Was a train engineer.  Had a boxed wine problem that "derailed" my career... and thirteen freight cars.

/cool story bro.  No, not really a train engineer, thank god.  I'd probably keep trying to get someone to re-enact movie scenes involving trains during transit.  "No, no, climb OVER the car, point the six-shooter at me, and demand that I turn over the Dulles Fortune!"

I used to play CoD on xbox (when I still played my xbox) and made the mistake of plugging in my mic. I know how the fans are, especially if you're a girl.

There are differences, and CoD fans don't demand change on the game (even though they suck).

You know, Bioware could have utterly flipped that troll around by declaring, "While we like the taste of red, blue, and green, the taste of your tiny, tiny tears were the best part."  I'd have been pissed, but I'd also have had to bow to them for that.

The difference is the level of caring.  A lot of CoD fans wouldn't care if the story involved the protagonist having to jump start a sperm whale with a copy of a Tae-Bo DVD and a bicycle pump, so long as they could still "no-scope 360 headshot noobs" with whatever lulzy gun was overpowered at the moment.  I say this as someone who enjoys no-scope 360 headshots with lulzy overpowered guns.  CoD fans would demand gun balance, because they care about guns.  Bioware fans demand endings to stories, because they care about stories.

Insert value judgments here.

In my time in the games industry, I can think of maybe three people for whom I'd be sorely tempted to respond in a fashion similar to this. Only one of them comes from this forum, though, and two of them aren't even a result of anything BioWare related.

Oh, no, I might have burst a blood vessel.  But then I would have lol'd from the sheer ballsiness of the answer.  Probably never purchased anything, ever, but I would have remembered it as the best troll response ever.  "TINY TEARS - NEVAR FORGET!"

Hi John, any chance BW could sell a special Aberfeldy 21 Scotch with a stamp from Asari space and dated 2165?
