What have you liked using? I figure for the final evolutions I'll go with Barrier for charge, and Pierce for Nova, but prior to that....? Note I'm playing on Normal/Veteran.
Ideal evolutions for SP Vanguard Charge/Nova?

Dark channel as a bonus power and have javik and kaiden on your squad. If you killed kaiden then Liara will do.
As for the ranks I went with
Charge: radius, power synergy, barrier
Nova: radius, half blast and piercing.
You could get away with increased damage instead on charge if getting biotic explosions isn't your thing (but why wouldn't you?). The radius increase makes targeting easier but remember you can pause time by bringing up the power wheel and survey the battlefield.
