OP got indoctrinated by the enemy on the battlefield! Quick, incapacitate this marine for his own sake!

My God... his eyes... What have they done to him!

Cerberus Operatives are en route to secure the line and deal with indoctrinated personnel. All marines are to be weary of unsecure Reaper tech.

GET OUT! You're not going to "Omega" us!

*Sigh* I see The Alliance has not kept you grunts up to date.  All remaining Ceberus Cells who have not gone dark stand with the fleets. We will insure humanities survival no matter the cost.
For the record our Cell was not involed with the Omega or Sanctuary Operations....So
secure that indoctrinated marine and get back on the line.

I would love to see a video explaining your perception of the ending. I've watched almost every decent video concerning the ending that I could find, and I have yet to see one in favor of it for some strange reason. The closest would the indoc theory, but as you say that's not your reason, I would love to hear another view that goes beyond "I liked it. It was brilliant. Full Stop."

Of course this mistrust is perfectly understandable.
Sadly since Cerberus High Command has gone dark, as well as numerous Cells we had to make a call on what to do next. Our goals have always been to insure humantites survival. So as per TIM's instruction all remaining Cerberus assets will be thrown at the Reapers.
We must work together in these trying times and the line must be held!

.....

However what happens after we win....well....we will address that when we win....

He is not indoctrinated, you simply say 3 is less than 4 and he says 3 is more than 2
both valid conclusions and if you wanted the line to have validation, then you'd accept that people would fall out of consensus after a time.

If the OP has changed his/her mind, and now thinks that the ending was worthwhile, he/she is entitled to that opinion. It runs contrary to many others, but that opinion is allowed.

It makes as much sense as thinking of "Jersey Shore" or "Real Housewives" as 'entertainment.'

The ending only fails if you can't think for yourself or use your imagination.

Well then it's all so clear now, I need to see if Game Stop can refund me on this Imagination. All this time I thought I was purchasing a game from a reputable developer.

I have an awesome game in development where the player gets to make all the choices. You don't even need a computer and all you need to play it is a good imagination, because it will all be in your head.

Now, $60 please. Also an additional $10 for the DLC.

Or can you not think for yourself or lack an imagination?

Just gonna throw this out here: If the OP is serious, I'd love to see that video. Or read a description of it, anyway. I'll tell you right now, it's extremely unlikely I'd suddenly decide to agree with it - the ending didn't even come anywhere close to living up to my expectations for the series - but even so, I'm curious. I'd like to be informed of the details, even if only so I can try to come up with a reasonable argument against them.

 I respect your opinion OP.

Mine may be different, but I still respect it.

And I do hope you make a video, I'd be fascinated to hear your theories.

No, this is not an indoctrination theory thread.

After a couple weeks of working things out in my head, I have to be intellectually honest and admit that there was a lot about the ending that did go over my head at first. It's not my fault of course, the information provided during the ending was so sparse that it did effectively become a puzzle; speculation for everyone indeed. Now that I feel that I have figured it out, I have an odd sense of accomplishment and a strange love/hate relationship with the ending. Hopefully the expansion of the ending with confirm my conclusions, but it will sort of rob the fun of figuring all of this out.

You may notice that I haven't actually posted what I have figured out. That's because the explanation will likely result in tl;dr responses.

I'm handing over my rifle and leaving the line. It's been fun, but Bioware is more clever than I thought. I would love to share my conclusions with other fans, but if I do it here, I will likely get met with strong resistance because it doesn't jive with indoctrination "theory", or the belief that the endings are objectively bad. Maybe I'll do a video.. I'll have to think about it.

Seriously, if you've discovered some way to interpret the ending in an acceptable light, I'd REALLY appreciate you sharing it with us. I'm sure all of us here would like to like the ending more than we currently do. (I'm serious).

If Bioware is so clever, how come so many fans are pissed off about the endings? Pissing off customers isn't a very clever way of doing business.

Neither is rushing your product for some quick cash then quickly hiding behind "artistic integrity" when it bites you in the ass.

Exactly my thoughts. Why create a thread to say nothing of worth? "I have some thought on the ending but I'm not going to share them cuz I don't want to. But I wanted to create this thread because I wanted to." ???

If you have a some ideas on what you think the ending means go ahead and share them. Create a thread called "What I think the endings means". But be aware that there are many analysis on the web showing major faults in the ending, so make a well thought out and good argument. An example of this would be the "Indoctrination theory", although I still find a few things that don't make sense in that theory, but that's for another discussion.

Just like the bazillion "I hate the ending" threads.
