Well on a New Game (starting from scratch -- no import) even then only some of the counters work now (kills & melee).
I also tried it with a new profile (I backed up my old profle plus the save games to the cloud), but for some reason the rest of the counters do nothing.
Also Importing a level 30 Character starts the counter at Level 1 when it should start at Level 30.

Is this by design?
Mass Effect 2 reset and unlocked all counters when you started with a new profile (regardless of whether you completed it before).

As for demanding an answer - well the fact they haven't posted in other threads (where it was 'for the attention' of Bioware) just goes to show what I said in one of the above posts - they just don't care.

:(

And you know the worst part is -- we can't do anything about it -- and that sucks.

I hope the PS3 users get a fix soon. I'm sure they're working on it, hopefully the wait will be a solid fix. I missed Operation:Goliath because I had a PS3 copy and I couldn't play due to bugs/glitches. It would be extremely nice if the Mass Effect team would give rewards to all the PS3 users for the missed events. It would be fair.

Could someone who can post in the Xbox360 forums be so kind to post a link to this thread in this thread

Would appreciate it.

Thanks

I typically play multiplayer for 4-6 hours at a time and have had less issues with it than the single player.

Even so, I have to think that patching in an HDD install of AT LEAST the MP would help things out. I don't like having my PS3's blu-ray drive CONSTANTLY spinning just to keep loading the same 6 maps - just put all that info on my HDD, please.

It happened to me also twice. Profile data corrupted. Luckily I am PSN Plus subscriber so my data saved automatically online and I copied them back to my PS3

Yep same thing happened to me, all my kills have been reset to zero.Lucky for me I had just finished my insanity playthrough about 10 minutes before it happen so I got my two gold trophies. Still alittle pissed off though.

Same here. Game crashed while I was playing multiplayer one day corrupting setting file and all my acomplishments were gone. Didnt get the unwavering trophy and the one for 5 000 kills... They sent me from EA support here, but I see there's more people like me and more post without any answer from Bioware. I'm not going to go through a whole game again just to get that trophy, ME3's improved cover system is too frustrating for me. I died way to many times because Shepard couldnt run trough cover but sat on his ass:]

It seems that this is the good way to protect yourself from incompetency of developers. I never think of getting ps plus before but recently I lost all autosaves from Skyrim, luckilly after getting a platinium trophy and now I lost a setting file from Mass Effect3 so I didnt get Unvawering trophy..., so this may be helpful and prevent all frustration. But still why would we have to pay extra to feel safe when we're playing an original game we paid for???
Maybe Bioware should start adding a free Playstation plus membership for a time of playing Mass Effect 3?

Are we just not worth their time?

Clearly BioWare has some kind of "favor" towards Microsoft (Xbox/PC). BioWare originally made ME/ME2 for these platforms; PS3 was added later (hinting that we are not a priority). The game was already a "hit" in sales way before they decided to cross-platform the game. If BioWare looses its PS3 community, i'm sure they can recover financially.

Sony is currently in a poor position to support its customers on this topic due to the PSvita (aka nonsense). They seem to only care about the things that don't matter to real gamers. This will surly be their demise in the gaming industry. (just like nintendo did years ago) sony will inevitably be the system you get for your kids so they can have something to do without bugging you.

now to the issues:

I've been experiencing the glitches and lag since the release day. started off quite tolerable, but it seems to progressively get worse by the day. Its gotten to a point where i can't do two matches in a row. I have to do a match and then restart the system to ensure that i can have a clean match without the freeze. I see this happen in the Citadel elevator and other random loading screens during the story.

So what is the point of this network? forum? thread? i can't speak for everyone, but i haven't even seen a response of any kind or even simple acknowledgement of any issues. (please let me know if you have seen anything)

after this experience, I can honestly say that I have given up on Sony for serious gaming and have picked up a 360. I applaud BioWare for the amazing series that they have created, but nothing more. you have terrible customer relations, and you apparently believe that you are an impenetrable giant of a company that will not be shaken by negative customer reviews.

All inclusive, it seems that all this complaining isn't really solving any issues. Ps3 customers seem to just suffer without any kind of estimate or hope that things will get better. Like being left out in the rain. It would appear that right now, the only definite solution would be to play the PC or Xbox version. this could be a costly solution and none of your profiles will move over (meaning no ME/ME2 data) I can't say that i'm mad about playing through all three games again on the 360. But I am a little pissed off that even though i will make completely different decisions, it really doesn't matter in the end. -____- anticlimactic. but thats another topic.

You do know that the Playstation freezing and causing memory loss is hardware fault, no software.

Beg to differ.

If that were the case it would happen with every game and it would also be something Sony would have addressed in later revisions of the PS3.

The fact that it freezes could well be a memory issue. Bioware have stated (can't remember where though) that the 'Not being able to holster the gun' is down to memory.

Also the fact that the Xbox360/PC versions freezes too and also experiences most of the same problems as the PS3 can only mean the following.

Not enough testing prior to release.
Sloppy programming.
Rushed production

I'm current playing ME2 and the quality and production value is miles better - even the loading screens do all kinds of things (rather than the simpler loading screens of ME3).

In my opinion ME3 is dumbed down in many ways technically.
While I won't go to detail aside from mention the most common one: The running animation with and without combat gear. Why not keep the running animation from ME2?

The gameplay is improved (I prefer the faster paced combat), and the story I can't really fault because the writing is superb (bar the ending).

But all the glitches/bugs and whatever else has come bundled with the game really hurt my enjoyment of it :(

Mostly it's isolated console problems. Not all. But a game freezing and causing memory loss is hardware wise. Comparing the game to a downloaded version of the game which in essence is the same just lowers loadtimes has no problems so it's not in the software. Hence why people are suggesting and demanding that Bioware patches in an install option.

Btw, my PS3 freezes on plenty of games, rarely might be never on ME3.

Open your machine and clean it up. Having the machines full with dust hurts it.

The all-digital version of Mass Effect 2 actually has LONGER load times than the disc version.  People want an HDD install to save their blu-ray players from wearing out and (possibly) improve the framerate.

Games freeze for lots of reasons and it's completely ignorant to say it's just a hardware issue.  There have been many with the digital version who still experience freezing.  It's the interaction of the software and hardware.

Megabug, that is untrue

I was 7/27 for unwavering after the bug happened to me and I finished up the game.

I have my plat now, it just started to recount Unless I already got the achievement.

Unwavering didn't unlock which is what I figured would happen -  The counter needs to read 27/27 and not 6/27.

Insanity did though.

Oh well...

Sorry about your issue. I'm also a victim of having the counters reset due to corruption from a freeze. Just to clarify, you had a freeze during your Insanity play through and had everything reset but still managed to get the Insanity trophy at the very end?

So by your logic, the thousands of PS3 users that are having issues are using faulty hardware? that only effects ME3?  That makes no sence.  I can play any of my other games flawlessly.  I dont care if there is an installation option, I would just like to be able to play.

Yes because the difficulty is tied to the save file and NOT the settings.
I found this out by swapping careers and going back to my Paragon save file. I noticed when I checked the settings that the difficulty had changed back to Normal which is the difficulty I originally started on.
A subsequent swap of career again back to my Renegade save file - the setting had changed back to Insanity which is the difficulty I used for the Renegade run.

This happened to me also. I did a entire playthrough on insanity when i first got the game, and it froze during a autosave at chronos station. I almost punched my  Fist through my TV screen.
