Ok so I just stupidly picked Tali and ashley for the Geth ship mission, and the two were really ****y to each other over my shep. I should point out that I cheated on ash with Tali - but was not expecting the argument. Nice touch. My question is, is it the same for Liara and Tali too? I'd love to know.

Not really, Liara is much more civil. I think Ash and Tali are the closest thing you can ever get to a catfight.
