Hi,

I just purchased the 4 GB XBOX 360 new black console.  I quickly found out that this was not enough space to recover my DLC.  My old XBOX 360 got the red ring of death.  So, instead of downloading the DLC from Mass Effect 2 I decided just to recover my from Ashes DLC with Javik.  I am downloading it.  I am going to purchase a 250 GB hard drive to add into my XBOX.  My question is:

If I download from Ashes DLC on my original console and then add on the 250 GB hard drive, will I lose my save data or will the extra memory storage integrate seamlessly with my existing 4 GB memory?  I don't want to play through the game with Javik and lose my data because I upgraded to 250 GB.

when you put the 250gb drive in, just go through system - storage - internal memory and move all data in 'games' to the hard drive. ME3 will automatically pick up from all storage media anyway.
Curious thing though: adding/removing a hard drive and/or kinect seems to make me2 (not sure on 3) think that you're playing on another machine. (I think hardware changes triggers a console id change)

Well I was able to recover my gamer profile, so hopefully I am able to get the DLC in Mass Effect 2 as well with my hard drive upgrade.

To avoid other potential problems perform the content license transfer as well. If you lose your internet connection you'll lose access to dlc. Link in sig.
