The scaled back dialogue, Diana Allers, and the use of stock photos adds another 5%.
So thank you Bioware, for 90% of Mass Effect 3.
You can have the other 10% back.

I don't post much here, but I agree wholeheartedly with this.
I loved the first two games, and almost all of the third game.
I thought they were awesome and full of win.
I did find the ending of ME3 quite dissapointing though, for reasons that many others have expounded upon.
Still, even with the dissapointing end, and the few other issues I had with the game (Really? a photoshopped stock image? Really? Come on guys, you can do better then that, I know you can.), I loved ME3, and I still reccomend the series to my friends, though I feel obligated to warn them about the end.
Such a shame, ME3 was soooo close to being, in my opinion, a perfect game.
So close....
Oh well, I just hope that whatever news is going to be announced in April will help calm the vitrol down a bit.
Not all of us are OK or agree with the attacks on Bioware or their staff.
Indeed, I would even say that few of us are OK with that.
I completely agree, thank you for posting here

I loved all 3, but ending aside...I think ME3 is the best.

But future purchases of DLC and other games will depend entirely on how they deal with the ending. If they choose to deal with it as if I had been too stupid to understand the original ending I will avoid their company from that point.
Mass Effect, Shepard, all the other wonderful characters and even The Reapers deserve a proper ending.

Simply because there's such little difference between them, and we have no choice but for Shep to die, (unless destroy with high enough EMS) no form of epilogue about the fates of crew, friends and companions, and (I know it's going to sound wierd) not even a pregnant female LI (or Liara for fem-Sheps who romanced her) so that we know Shep's spirit will live on through children. Not even an explanation for how everyone got back to the Normandy, or how Joker knew to haul tail to the Relay and get the flock out of there.
Anyone who's read the last two Dune books written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson will know about Duncan Idaho's Synthesis outcome.
Why does the Synthesis ending have to kill Shep? Or the Control ending for that matter?
In my opinion, each of the endings should have had a chance for Shep to survive, but in a similar fashion to the Krogan female's survival -> dependant upon choices already made in previous games.
For example, suvival in Control leaves Shep permanently hooked up to the Citadel and the Reapers like David Archer was for Project Overlord, if we'd given Tali the Geth data from her mission in ME1, and had reprogrammed the Heretics in Legion's mission.
For Synthesis, Sheps implants from being rebuilt by Cerberus make him the first of the hybrids, but only with a high enough paragon rating, because that was what determined how well their long term integration affected his body, combined with a high enough EMS.
As it is, Destroy with high enough EMS potentially means Shep's survival along with the destruction of the Reapers, Geth and any synthetic life at the time.

Well said OP. I was basically going to make this thread.
The other tread make me think about the people behind the games. It cannot be pleasant to see when you have put so much work into something.
I just wanted to say, for what its worth that I did and still am getting a lot of enjoyment out of Mass Effect 3 and I really appreciate the time and effort that went into it.
I also want to generally say that, the sheer amount of enjoyment i've got from Bioware games in the last few years is insane. A genuine thank you to all the people that work on the games, we only spend so much time talking about your games because we love them, even if we do get very vocal about the bits we don't like.
We are probably not vocal enough about the bits we DO like.
For what it's worth a small sample of the things about mass effect 3 that left me with a massive smile on my face:
The development of Tali's character, she has grown as a character wonderfully over the 3 games, made me laugh when she got drunk, nearly cry on her homeworld. A very well crafted character, a classic, well done.
The cameo of Kasumi, very nice, and you totally had me for a second.
The scene with Garus and Tali, just really sweet and unexpected.
The sound design, whoever designed that reaper noise needs a medal of some sort, made me feel genuinely intimitated at times, and my tv is bloody rubbish, Thats no small feat.
Remember, we are fans, we do love your work,
Well said, I won't let this thread die. I post here a lot. I didn't even start posting here until I beat Mass Effect 3. I just want our message to stay positive and respectful. It hurts when people verbally attack you. It turns it into a us vs them situation. When really it seems like a lot of us are Bioware fans and appreciate their hardwork and long hours. I know how hard it is and stressful it is when it comes down to crunch time at a company like Bioware, we had some behind the scenes looks and discussions in the months prior to release and the same can be said for DICE with battlefield 3. Some game companies really try to work with their fans, sometimes they mess up, but we still appreciate their efforts and calloborations with us.

I still love the work Bioware does and I really think you are a supremely talented bunch. I think the Mods have been very respectful and patient with some who really don't deserve it. I honestly think that all of you guys at Bioware are doing your darndest to balance the criticism with your vision and that is exactly how it should be! I firmly believe that NOBODY (are nearly nobody) would be complaining about the ending if the other 99% of the game wasn't absolutely THE BEST game any of us have ever played. I still recommend the game and trilogy to friends - I just give them the caveat that the ending will probably not live up to their expectations after playing through the rest of the game. I respect that you guys - Bioware - are the artists and visionaries who created this amazing story and that is why I ASK you to look at the criticism and make revisions AND also understand that it is your story and that you will make the final decision on any revisions to come.
The end of Mass Effect 3 does not mark the end of my love for your games.
It does make it harder to want to keep adventuring in the Mass Effect universe - but not impossible.
I hope you do take the criticisms to heart and make revisions, but I respect that it is your choice to do so. Just know that it would make me very happy.
And remember: 99.99% of the series is still the best story-telling in the history of video games and some of the best in the history of stories. It seems backwards and strange, but this is the first video game that had a story that was good enough that people REALLY cared about the ending. Video games are actually notorious for bad endings, but people let it slide because the stories weren't told well enough to care how it ends. The silver lining here is that you've actually accomplished something historic - you've made a video game that, knowingly or not, people recognize as art. Ironically, we may have never noticed if it were not for the bad ending.
In conclusion: Thank you, Bioware and good luck - I'm rooting for you even as I ask you to revise the ending.

And Star Wars, Star Trek, and Lord of the Rings were free of plot-holes? LOL. Avatar, Iron Man, X-men too? ALL FULL OF PLOT HOLES!
Of course there are plot holes, people only notice plot holes when immersion breaks and then just keep noticing them all. The ending broke immersion (there's a good video desrcibing "Narrative Coherence" in terms of Mass Effect here) and that's why everyone suddenly noticed the story had holes.

In all honesty, walking into the battery at that point made me giggle like a school kid.
It worked so beautifully, especially given their reminiscing of time spent in elevators in ME1, during ME2.
This game has made me smile, laugh, sad and nearly cry a couple of times throughout the course of it.
Mordin and Thane's deaths, Legion's evolution and ascension, banter between Garrus and Vega, helping Steve through his grief, and even convincing Balak to join forces against the Reapers even after he'd been specifically murdering humans on the Citadel.
It's things like that that really helped me form a closer emotional attachment to characters, and even to the game itself. More so than the previous installments.
Like I said before, I am disappointed with the ending(s) but not the game as a whole.

The Tuchanka storyline will always be one of the high points in the trilogy for me. I loved Wrex and Eve, and Mordin's sacrifice was executed beautifully.
But yes, the ending was just nowhere near satisfying and fell far short of feeling like a victory.
I was prepared for shepard to die
But i certainly wasn't ready to end the game on the reapers own terms.

I will gush. His sacrifice was honestly my favourite thing in a video game since ..... probably going back to childhood memories of Legend of Zelda games.

#1: Sound - OMG, was the music/sound effects/voice acting not amazing in this game? I was really impressed, and sound made for a truly cinematic experience for me.
#2: Combat - I feel combat was very much improved in this game. I actually felt like the enemies were intelligent, and I loved that we could upgrade weapons more like in ME1 again.
#3: Drama - I cried so much during this game. Happy tears, sad tears, tear everywhere. If you didn't cry, than your unit doesn't have a soul.
#4: Eve (Urdnot Bakara) - She gets her own number. BAMF.
#5: Emergency. Induction. Ports.
#6: Fear Factor - Great job bumping up the scariness of the reapers and their mutated slaves.
I'll think of more things later!

I still don't appreciate being lied to, but of course the series is still fantastic... even if the ending kind of kills the entire thing.
