Yes, 95% of the game to me was pure gold. I laughed, I cried, and I felt like a true hero. Thank you Bioware. :)

Agreed. So much in this game was just sooo right. I loved the whole story right up until those last 15 minutes. I would have moved on and left this forum long ago if not the first 99% had me so enthralled.

Bioware has pretty much been at the top of my books for years. One ending won't change that.

The first game of theirs I played was Knights of the Old Republic, and since then I've played every game they have. (Except for Jade empire, I've been meaning to get around to that)

I know I'm in the minority here, but I loved both Origins and DA2. It felt like a much slicker and focused version of the original.

But ME3 tops it all. Its even topped Dark Souls, Skyrim and FNV. I just love playing it more then them.

If we could combine FNV's endings with ME3's story....Jackpot.

My friends and I are pretty much in agreement that 99% of ME3 is the best ME game overall. And that's saying a lot, since I adored ME1, even to the point where I pretty much said it was my favorite game.

I cried during multiple parts of ME3. Mordin's death. Saying goodbye to Garrus (romanced). That moment when Grunt stumbled out of the rachni caverns right as I was swallowing down ANOTHER lump in my throat because I'd just lost ANOTHER friend? Fireworks. Good on you, you hard-headed krogan whelp! Warm fuzzies seeing Jack make something of her life. All-out panic when Samara put that gun to her head (I'll quote another player and just say, "I've never hit a Paragon interrupt so fast.")

Did NOT get emotional during the boy's death at the beginning, but unlike most, it's because I'd already head-canoned it to where I'd managed to save him and bring him along. And then Harbinger used the kid (Michael) as a way to worm his way into my Shep's head...let's just say that by the time the game ended (using Indoc as a template), Shep's mind was in such disarray that it took years of therapy to sort out what memories were real and which weren't. Anyway, back on topic...

ME3, like its predecessors, left plenty of room for people to create their own stories, and I've always loved that. There are the main (canon) events like Virmire, and there's the minor (player-invented) events such as Shep accidentally letting slip to Joker what her pick-up line to Garrus was. The two worked together, and sometimes the line between Bioware-created and player-invented became so blurry that it no longer existed. Tali and Garrus becoming LI in ME2? 100% fan popularity from ME1. I loved that, and it tears me up that one bad sequence right at the end drove a knife so sharply into so many of us' hearts.

It was an amazing trilogy. That you can stand proud on, Bioware. Now just please fix that one tiny little nagging problem? ;-P

i think besides a few minor annoying things..like killing off emily wong in twitter and giving us allers....the lack of planet side exploration ala ME1...or decent side missions...i think the rest of the game was awesome was at the edge of my seat through my play through....so i thank them for 99% of the game they made...the ending however...although not completely terrible.....eh who am i kidding..playing the first game since 2007 over and over and again with ME2 after....only to end the way it did was just....dissapointing. ah well...they only real game to have so many choices in it that ended with a great ending then let you do a game+ for 14 other endings was years ago and that was chrono trigger.

I wrote this in another thread, but it's relevant here so I'll repeat it.

ME3 had a lot of wonderful scenes, but Rannoch (for me) tops the list. I've always liked the quarians. Some of it was just that Tali struck me as one of the most engaging characters in ME1 (along with Wrex). I found aspects of the culture interesting, especially details like how Tali had trouble sleeping in quiet environments due to the reassuring background noise of the migrant ships.

What really got me was in the later games, where I really had to sympathize with the geth. I absolutely think that the quarians were in the wrong. On Rannoch, I was able to get the two sides to make peace, but if I had to choose one or the other... I'd save the quarians. Every time, even though I consider it unethical. I just can't bring myself to let them die.

It was honestly a pretty disturbing experience. So bravo, BioWare. I've said elsewhere that good science fiction entertains, while great science fiction makes the viewer uncomfortable; I was damned uncomfortable knowing what I would do. That scene was masterfully done.

I have to say the 'don't touch that!' button when you hit the Salarian research facility to release the Krogan female was quite humorous.

Kudos for that.

Agreed. The game has some problems besides the ending, but they were so easily overlooked by how amazing everything else was. The ending was sooooo powerfully disappointing because the rest of the game (and indeed, the rest of the series) was just incredible.

I have nothing but respect for Bioware and Mass Effect. Some people have let their feelings about the endings get the better of them, which I can fully understand, but we shouldn't act like Bioware is the enemy here.

love the thing to dam and blast pieces. was ready to uplift it to the highest of pantheons along with its predecessors. But I cannot, yet, because of the ending.
But I love the thing to bits

1% bad (ending) but 99% best game ever!

Loved every mission, especially the depht in the concenssus one.
The conversations you can have (and listen to) with your squadmates are awesome. (Especially Ashley drunk) Wish you could have interupted sometimes though, with just a cough of something just as simple.

Are a few things with the artistic creation I'm not to happy with either, like using stockphotos in the creation, using the same skins for all guys and such, but I can live with that, even understand and accept it.

<3 the game!

The entire rest of the game is almost entirely brilliant. Some of the best stuff in the entire series, and a true gaming masterpiece. Until the end, obviously.

I mean it's not FLAWLESS, there's alot of hints that feel underdone, presumably because they had to rush it out a bit, but the highly polished top quality majority of the game more than makes up for it, even, for the most part, the autodialogue, which I still hate, but is surprisingly easy to ignore most of the time.

Really, it should be obvious that the reason the vast majority of the players are upset is exactly because the game is so good and we love the series. No matter what way you cut t, and no matter how much clarification Bioware will try and give it, these endings are fundamentally unworthy of being this series conclusion, it's most important, crowning moment should not be a miserable, halfhearted, one size fits all slap in the face, where we find out everthing we did was meaningless.

Tuchunka and Rannoch showed they can pull of satisfying, poignant, and uplifting while maintening all the major themes of the game, while still giving a great amount of variety.

We're not demanding better, more varied endings because we feel entitled, but because its literally the only way of saving Mass Effect, and preventing it being remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Yes. I loved the game up to the ending. If this ending would be part of some lame game/series I would quickly get over it and just forget/ignore it. But when such a brilliant trilogy like Mass Effect meets such an ending... that is just wrong on so many levels. That is why we "rage" here. Becouse we are fans and we love 2.9 of Mass Effect.

If it was not for the ending this game would have been my new #1 of my favorite games. I think the immense outrage for this ending proves that we enjoyed the rest of the series and this game more than anything. If I didn't like it I wouldn't have written a single word in here.

The rest of the game is not flawless, it's good but not flawless.... A broken journal.... almost all side quests are scan and fetch.... and you need multiplayer to get your Galactic Readiness higher.

Diablos2525, I agree. I loved 99% of Mass Effect 3 and I still love Bioware very much, in spite of thinking that the ending of the game was awful.

In particular, I love whoever wrote the Tuchanka missions (Mordin! Bakara!), the geth/quarian stuff, Kaidan's romance, Conrad Verner (such obscure ME1 side-missions!), and everything to do with Thane. Good job, folks. Spectacular stuff.

99% of game is really art in game industry. Never saw games that makes it characters so real to feel them. But 1% it's the ending... just no comments.
