They should have hired Yahtzee instead.

I liked her ass.

You liked it ??? it's far away from Miranda's ass. Chobots ass is big/fatt.

This, may I also point out the criticism of Mirandas face model in ME2 when Allers looks 10x worse.

Strahotski beats out Chobot in real life too. Just look at them damnit!

Because by allowing IGN to have a major influence in the game Bioware are displaying their "artistic integrity"

She is voiced by some person from IGN.

You can probably guess what I think is the reason why.

The only reason I have her on my ship are the war assets. For the rest of the time I mostly ignore her.

Diana Allers is an alcoholic. Go check her room, bottles and glasses everywhere.
And some people wonder why she's got that derp face and annoying voice.

The answer is simple. To bribe IGN for a good review. They picked the likeness of one of their reporters, and gave her the job as Voice Actor as well.. so IGN could write their glowing review and would call the fans who'd be unhappy about the game dimwits that wouldn't know art if it would jump right into their faces.

He speaks the truth.

QFT.
I want to believe in them... but they're not making it easy.
They're certainly doing everything in their power to make it look like they've succumbed to indoctrination by the rEApers.

Am I the only person who doesnt have a problem with the Diana Allers idea?

The application of the idea was bad, but if Allers had some kind of questline that made her presence on the normandy meaningful.... I wouldn't have cared that she was from the internet.

The Diana Allers we got was completely underwhelming, and by the end I didnt even stop to see her after quests... but It had nothing to do with who she was based on. She was underused, thats my issue.

nobody cared about Miranda being a carbon copy of a real person.

Because Miranda is based on an actress, not an employee of a game reviewing website that also happens to give Mass Effect 3 a 9.5 by disregarding all broken and flawed content and massive plot holes.

I would have been fine with her if they actually developed that character, however, what we've got was another "pretty" statue to fill one of the Normandy's rooms and offer ridiculous dialogue that forces sexuality.

I honestly fail to see why all the hate for Allers. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact I am not from USA, I don't watch IGN (not even sure what it is)
I have no problems with Allers. Actually I think the whole concept of having a reporter on Normandy so we can give interview about our actions and listen to her reports are great. I visited Allers after each mission so I could listen to her chat with Samantha or her messages at Battlespace etc.
Why we couldn't have Emily Wong? http://masseffect.wi...i/Aidan_Pearson That's why.
Why we couldn't have Khalisah al-Jilani? Because she is annoying. (And I even never attacked her.)

I don't even understand this. I don't have to be a male to know that that isn't even sexy. What the hell?

It also causes me immeasurable amounts of secondhand embarrassment. Why would you want this sort of attention?

Artistic Integrity....that's why. Don't question their choices.

edit: they didn't even have the decency to kill off Emily Wong in game...they did it via Twitter.<_<

Um...wow.  I'm old enough to have had one of those.  My very first computer *sniff*.  Type "LOAD".  Push "play".  Wait 10 minutes for the software to load up.

Ahh, the memories.  Slow, slow slow memories.

I remember reading the twitter stream of Emily Wong while waiting for my copy of ME3 and being genuinely touched by her reporting of the invasion. Getting shivers, thinking about the times I helped her out in the Citadel, when she rammed that reaper. This was all before finishing the game of course.

Damn you Bioware, thanks to that stupid ending, the incredible emotional investment we had in this universe just imploded. Everything about Mass Effect feels shallow now.

Diana Allers is a walking refutation of the entire "artistic integrity" argument.
