Instead what we got was bad fanservice.
It's only fanservice if people were demanding chobot to be introduced as a character in the game. Not once have I ever seen a thread dedicated to such.
What we got was bad promo.

"Fanservice" in the sense that it's another "hot" chick that the player can potentially bone and/or ogle.Xarathox wrote...

Dunno how that's supposed to work. Chobot isn't "hot" in reality and her in game model is actually worse. <_<

I have nothing against Chobot in particular (except that she should be banned from the words "epic" and "for the win" forever) and being female, I only have a vague idea of her level of attractiveness. But her model is just an outright monstrosity.

Female as well, and I think Allers is an abomination. There is so much voice talent out there, who deserved that part far more. And it's *certainly* not because I'm jealous of Allers/Chobot. Her face is so swollen I'm positive the b**ch is on steroids. I wouldn't be complaining if Hale was doing the voice and she looked like Amanda Seyfried. Or even if the chick was ugly, who cares? Just someone who *felt* believable would have made all the difference.
Kill it. With fire.

Considering the most interaction with her is an e-mail that you cannot follow up on, I'd hardly call that much of anything.Deflagratio wrote...
Yes she did. She was the lead anchor on Citadel News.
Fair enough.

Chobot was included for artistic integrity. I mean, hey, why not? It's as good a reason as anything since artistic integrity seems to be the new catch-all excuse for defending everything that went wrong with the game. So why not Chobot's inclusion as well?
I'm going to use that excuse for every problem I see now.
Therefore, artistic integrity needed Chobot to VA.

The bolded parts are exactly what I feel.
Just out of interest, what's your vague idea of ME3 Ashley in terms of "level of attractiveness"? And compared to original ME Ash?

Simple, Bioware was trying to maintain a level of artistic integrity.

She's there because someone felt that the game needed some piece of eyecandy, like Megan Fox or that chick who replaced Megan Fox.
Funny thing that.
She isn't terribly too good looking in real life, but her in-game model is just a soulless montrosity of creepiness.
This is the girl below here that isn't terribly too good looking in real life?
I'll have to wonder what standard you're used to calling good looking. Either that or it's HaterAide and her dogs got to you on her lawn before you could get back to the proper side of her fence. She's very pretty.

Similar to Yyvonne/Miranda though, they ended up getting me as far as "oh ya I see" but then limitations of the engine cause them to fall short, particularly at certain angles and under certain lighting. The character was sort of unnecessary too, but as annoyed as I am with Bioware over several things with this game, I can't understand why anyone would dislike this girl. Is she a moron or something?

A journalist obtaining her position because of a promiscuous act is nothing new. However, it sends young women a very negative message. Bioware including Jessica Chobot in the form of Diana Allers is a bit corrupt, and supports a demeaning message to women.

So if I stick the phallic shaped Wiimote in my mouth do I get to be a writer for Bioware?

Her in-game pixel translation, as was stated by others, is a monstrosity. I wouldn't spend time with it, it very much *does* make me think of Snooki, a disgusting beast all on its own. The VA work did not lend anything redeeming or endearing to the character. I detest al-Jilani, but I'd take that bint (hah) over Allers any day.
Tastes will always vary, and I'm shallow enough (and aware of it) to admit that looks are certainly a factor in many things. Between Allers and James, I thought they were trying to do little more than draw in the Jersey Shore fans.
Thankfully, it turns out that James actually has some character to him, and I even got to like the guy a bit. It's a shame that FPJ was given some bad lines to work with, though.

I preferred ME1 Ash. Not to girl out on you or anything, but everyone knows that if you have an oblong face, you don't wear shoulder length straight hair. It creates the illusion that your face is longer than it is. At any rate, I'm not sure of a man's perspective, but although I'd call her pretty, what I liked most about Ash was her attitude, pragmatism, and her no-nonsense presentation. Not too fond of her role (or look) in ME3.TheRealJayDee wrote...

I don't know about "moron" (I'm not familiar enough to judge, nor do I actually care to try), but she does appear to be a "gamerr gurll." You know the sort.MsKlaussen wrote...

I don't really mind, but her whole "I fellate video game controllers" rankles on people's nerves. The only thing it causes me is some vague secondhand embarrassment.

What did I miss? That's what I'm trying to understand here.
A promiscuous act? Is she an ex adult star, because there is literally no end to women in Hollywood and whatnot who have and are still doing "promiscuous acts" to keep their jobs. Both on and off camera. None send the best of messages to young women, but then last time that was a dealbreaker mandate for Hollywood, the color TV was a fictional construct.
I hear references to her being photographed with a game controller of curious dimension and shape in her mouth. Is that what's wrong? Honestly, between that and Keith David playing a pimping drug dealer getting oral attention from Jennifer Connelly and sending her to a bar to do far worse in Requiem for a Dream, I can't see where this girl stands alone as a VA who has been less than discerning about how she's appeared on camera.
And I say this not as a testosterone driven teen boy but as a middle aged woman with a young daughter and who loves Keith David. When men I know talk about women playing with toys like it's a personal affront to them, the women look a far sight worse than this (and take up a lot more of the lens even without their beards too), which is why I'm so curious as to what this one could have done.
