Because obviously adding an IGN journalist does not questions Bioware's artistic integrity.

And it's obviously not a serious conflict of interest, either.

What did I miss? That's what I'm trying to understand here.

A promiscuous act? Is she an ex adult star, because there is literally no end to women in Hollywood and whatnot who have and are still doing "promiscuous acts" to keep their jobs. Both on and off camera. None send the best of messages to young women, but then last time that was a dealbreaker mandate for Hollywood, the color TV was a fictional construct.

I hear references to her being photographed with a game controller of curious dimension and shape in her mouth. Is that what's wrong? Honestly, between that and Keith David playing a pimping drug dealer getting oral attention from Jennifer Connelly and sending her to a bar to do far worse in  Requiem for a Dream, I can't see where this girl stands alone as a VA who has been less than discerning about how she's appeared on camera.

And I say this not as a testosterone driven teen boy but as a middle aged woman with a young daughter and who loves Keith David. When men I know talk about women playing with toys like it's a personal affront to them, the women look a far sight worse than this (and take up a lot more of the lens even without their beards too), which is why I'm so curious as to what this one could have done.

I don't know anything about Keith David, or this movie.  Did he intentionally play this role?  He was already an established actor to be cast wtih Jennifer Connolly, I would assume.

I'm a 20-something girl who plays a few video games.  For the most part, bioware portrays women in their games mmore positively and appropriately than most other companies.  To me, using a "gamer girl" personality like Jessica Chobot is a step backward in my opinion.  She made herself look like a promiscuous woman, a man's tool, in order to please men.  I don't know if she intentionally wanted to become a game journalist as a result, or if it happened because ign was so impressed with her sleaziness.  I don't know.  The point is, teenaged girls who play video games, and see Jessica Chobot getting a voice acting role (and her likeness implemented into her game to boot) will think, "Ok, that is how to get intot he gaming industry."  Which is a poor message to send to our already screwed up youth, imo.

These girls should be emulating young women like Felicia Day, who didn't have to sacrifice her dignity in order to become a part of the gaming industry.

ME3 is completely tailored to attract SONY PS3 crowd. She licked SONY PSP. There's the connection.

That's the weakest logic I've ever seen.

I think you've misunderstood. Chobot isn't a voice actress or any actress of any sort (hence her wooden voice work in ME3)--she's a gaming journalist...or a gaming personality, as the case may actually be. She never played a role as a notorious serial PSP licker, it was just a suggestive photo that became viral amongst pockets of the game community prior to her employment with IGN.

Not really. Many comsumers substitute their favourite brand for their personality (that is especially strong amongst Apple and SONY lovers). And when some decent looking chick licks PSP in such erotised manner, she doesn't lick peace of hardware, she licks...well, you know.

I'm not saying that Allers wasn't added for sex appeal, but to specifically attract Sony fans? No, I doubt that.

You know the ugly answer.

And some people still have the nerve to call this sell-out art.

So just because she licked a PSP.... you think only Sony fans are crazy for her? No... truth is there are a bunch of prepubescant boys who all ****** off to her. Now, that IGN replaced her with Naomi Kyle... those kids forgot about Jessica and now **** off to her....

Welcome to the internet... and enjoy your stay

Yeah, no. Everything to do with sexual suggestion, nothing to do with Sony in particular. If she had been deepthroating a Wiimote, would you say she was added to appeal to Nintendo fans?

I agree with this.

Added for sex appeal is added for sex appeal. It isn't confined to target a specific console's userbase.

But ME3's not released on current Nintendo console, so it wouldn't be an option.

I think the biggest problem I have with the character Diana Allers is that from a voice acting perspective Chobot sounds more like she's doing an impression of herself doing a IGN game guide, She never really comes like a serious news reporter reporting on the galactic events that could lead to the extinction of the humans and every other race in the galaxy. She's far to chirpy, she kind of breaks the immersion for me.

I'm sure the only reason Chobot is in here is for the sex appeal as she is an attractive women, but me personally I think Bioware should have gone for a character that was already established in the Mass Effect universe like Emily Wong, who in my opinion would have been perfect for this role Or for amusing results Khalisah al-Jilani.

I take it out of pocket in the public and start to play with it... Yes, I can see the comparison.
