Nice. The way things are looking, full games will soon only consist of an introduction.

That first link is disturbing indeed.... But I'd do it for ME. Heck even if it cost $20

Despicable, disgusting, repulsive, and sickening. I wonder why I don't buy any Capcom games.

That depends on the amount of "donations" that Capcom provide IGN with

To be frank- but I don't really care.
It just means I'll buy less games if they want me to buy more per game. End result is about the same.
I'll always pay for quality work, and often - but if they burn me once (aka ME3) - it's going to be hard to get me back in the fold as a cash-cow.
There's a lot of other things to spend my time and money on and the companies need me more than I need them.

Capcom has been a real **** about DLC since this whole thing began. Not to mention the numerous problems with some of their titles, full priced revisions and even getting people to pay for a demo.

Capcom has been doing stuff like this for awhile now. Resident Evil 5 had a multiplayer mode that cost $5 and all you were downloading was an unlock code.

It would be capcom wouldn't it?
I just hope that when this whole ME3 ending mess shakes out, we don't find out that we're in the same situation as the Asura's Wrath fans, only a month behind them.

As long as there's enough zeros on that check, he might even make a video saying "This is the future of gaming!"

Absolutely disgusting. Hard to make a case for video games being art when this kind of stuff is happening. Other developers need to stand up against this...

The gaming industry needs to learn that we are the reason you have jobs and make money and when you start screwing with us, there will be consequences

This IS the future of gaming. Everything in the world is moving towards YOU ARE LEASING NOT OWNING what you buy. Games will be no different.
Before you know it Microsoft will force you to buy cloud storage for XBOX, at a low monthly fee of course, just to be able to play.

Remember the good old days when buying a game actually meant you had.. well.. y'know.. the whole game? I saw this coming a mile away when the DLC model was first introduced, the fact is that when companies know they have a loyal fanbase, they can get away with this crap simply because they know people will buy it.
Why can't we have complete games anymore? Not this BS where we have to pay extra for stuff that's already on the disc, or content that is deliberately cut out because of "deadline constraints" only to be released at a later date.
I'm going back to Zork.

I'm switching my loyalty to CDProjectRed. Now there's a developer that knows how to properly reward its fans. Bought Witcher & Witcher 2 when they each first came out - they've both received massive upgrades and soon both will be enhanced editions with loads of worthwhile extra content.
I wouldn't give a second thought to preordering CDProjectRed's games. Bioware, on the other hand, gives me a lot of pause.

Oh, if no one wants to read.
Just like the next Xbox/Durango,
we've heard from multiple sources that the Orbis will likewise have
some kind of anti-used games measures built into the console. Here's how
our main source says it's currently shaping up: new games for the
system will be available one of two ways, either on a Blu-Ray disc or as
a PSN download (yes, even full retail titles). If you buy the disc, it
must be locked to a single PSN account, after which you can play the
game, save the whole thing to your HDD, or peg it as "downloaded" in
your account history and be free to download it at a later date.
Don't think you can simply buy the disc and stay offline, though;
like many PC games these days, you'll need to have a PSN account and be
online to even get the thing started. UPDATE - Since
some people seem to have taken this to mean the console requires an
"always on" intenet connection, we've heard nothing about that. All
we've heard is that you need to authenticate a new game online via the
PSN.
If you then decide to trade that disc in, the pre-owned customer picking
it up will be limited in what they can do. While our sources were
unclear on how exactly the pre-owned customer side of things would work,
it's believed used games will be limited to a trial mode or some other
form of content restriction, with consumers having to pay a fee to
unlock/register the full game.
