I can fully understand an indoctrination ending for ME 3 being dlc, but what capcom has done is unforgivable, therefore I will never again buy a capcom game. EA/Bioware better learn a lesson from them and fast

street fighter? people have been buying the same game for well over a decade now and are just starting to complain? :P

jesting (or not) aside, that is some pretty lame garbage on capcom's part, but I doubt EA would be allowed to get away with it. Between Bioware's games and the battlefield series alone, this is a pretty vocal crowd, and theres plenty other games they publish. Capcom on the other hand, well I'll just say I've never met a real "core" capcom fan in my life.

You're talking about the same EA with a CEO who wants to charge us a dollar everytime we reload our guns in Battlefield 3. Nothing is beyond the scope of these crony capitalism thugs. Yeah I said it.

Just finished Binary Domain. It was a kitsch, but good fun and had a far better ending than I had expected. Still super cheesy.

Sega didn't lock it behind any kind of DLC wall or day one DLC. As a fan of Valkyria Chronicles I appreciated buying a few extra missions 6 months down the line. If only to support a game I really liked.

Has anyone seen the prices the Live store and even worse the Playstation Store charge for brand new games. I think they are living in a dream land. When mobile is 69p to around £5 for a game, some vests for Soul Calibur should not cost more than a bottle of your favourite softdrink.

I was planning on SSX now EA can take a hike (same for Capcom).

So is there a list of 'good' publishers? I'd like to put my money where my mouth is.

Want to get Binary Domain so much..
Anyway i think that's the general direction a lot of companies are taking so i think i'll start buying games instead of brands... Make an awesome game? good, you'll have to make another good one for me to keep buying the things you make.

Yeah, I've pre-purchased Binary Bromain on Steam, watched one of my friends play through it and it was pretty damn awesome in so many ways. Like you mashed Transformers and Terminator together and boiled it in pure awesome.

Just because he talked about it doesn't mean it will happen, do you really expect people to pay 1$ per reload? People are dumb, I'll hand that to you, but not that dumb.

And if EA does try that, then batlefield will simply go from shooter to fighting game :)

It's not about people being dumb per say, it's using human psychology to essentially trick us into it. The idea is you start with a certain amount of reloads... by the time you start having to pay, you're invested in the game as he put it "not thinking about the cost, and it seems really small at first" but it adds up quickly.

While they may not implement that exact idea, the idea of using psychology and gouging the customer is evidenced by the OP, and he forgot about Final Fantasy having people paying for their ending now as well. It's a growing trend apparently and I hope people AREN'T that dumb but so far... gamers haven't proven them wrong.

There is a simple way to fix this problem.

Don't give these companies money. No matter how badly you want the next street fighter - or Mass Effect DLC - the only way to fix this "DLC creep" is to not give that company any money. period.

...locking something that's actually ON the disc when it's sold to you?

That's just, just... I don't even... ugh.

EDIT: In stark contrast: http://www.cinemable...-Ban-39349.html

BioWare did this with Javik.

the ending isnt locked on the disc, just may have been held back. but seriously, is this the industry way of milking the cow or stopping 2nd hand sales cause i live in the real world.

i would buy the game on sale or 2nd hand then get the ending dlc, better than being the muppet who brought it on day of release and pays more, day/week 1 says are going to plument if this catches on and the rumor of ps4 used game lockout.

time to be sensible with money, i can see alot of dev's and publishers disappearing. they truely have no forsight, just the here and now greed.

Hmm, I know where you're coming fom with that, but I'm not completely convinced about that situation. It really does seem to have been 'placeholder' material on the disc to ensure better functionality and integration into the game.

Now whether or not he should have been in there completely free of charge, given how utterly relevant Javik was thematically? Totally agreed.

CAPCOM is insane.
I got Tekhen for PS2 before but that was years ago.
Fortunately I wasn't the one who bought it, I will never buy a CAPCOM game that isn't a trade-in ever!

Companies try to combat "piracy" and this is how they repay costumers who pay for their games?

Just business as usual for capcom nothing new.

Haven't bought a capcom game since the PS2. What bothers me are the people on here who are giving Bioware a free pass for their DLC bull they pull in many of their games. Don't be hypocrites, if you're going to hate on capcom for underhanded business tactics hate on all the companies doing it as well.

Maybe EA wants to adopt this model of business. But it wont be long before their profits plummet as people stop buying new games as there is no point, in a few months the price would drop and a complete edition with all the dlc would be released.

Ah Capcom...now I'm wary of buying Dragon's Dogma. My games calender is looking emptier by the day.
