I'll go back to playing on my SNES emulator.

I know you were giving an exaggerated example to make a point, but I think things really might start to go this way.

Just business as usual for capcom nothing new.
Haven't bought a capcom game since the PS2. What bothers me are the people on here who are giving Bioware a free pass for their DLC bull they pull in many of their games. Don't be hypocrites, if you're going to hate on capcom for underhanded business tactics hate on all the companies doing it as well.
But Capcom is stopping people from accessing the Disk Locked Content ending.
We don't yet know if Bioware was just incompetent with the ending.

That's just, just... I don't even... ugh.
EDIT: In stark contrast: http://www.cinemable...-Ban-39349.html
Thats a good read you linked to, and has convinced me to preorder the Witcher 2.
Rather different to ME3's ending making me think I should never preorder games from now on. Bioware should take note, developers treating customers as people, and someone they should be selling themselves to and please, does a hell of a lot more to make use part with our money then deciding their own preferences and artistic vision is more important than giving people what they actually want.

The idea of consumers creating their own stories in this fashion is intriguing.

I think it'd be interesting to develop a completely branching storyline game. A game that is developed in such a fashion that players can actually choose which DLC to download to continue the story. With each episode they have to choose from being completely incompatible from the others. Wildly different stories that essentially "locks" a player into their storyline unless they delete the DLC.
The idea of consumers creating their own stories in this fashion is intriguing.
that would be a good idea however the base price of the game would have to be lower otherwise it would be no point. other games in the past managed the A,B,C,D,E and F endings and where just one cost value, why would another game with A,B and C endings cost more when the endings where cut out and sold at a price and the total would make the game higher price.

I'm seriously debating dropping video gaming as a hobby soon. I just can't stand getting screwed over developer after developer, having publishers ruin game after game.
And if I was to, that would be a huge commitment. Dunno what I'd do with my free time. Something productive, I guessBut seriously, no use for a hobby that makes me feel irritated every time I hear news about it. Real shame.
My feelings exactly!
EA ruined C&C series.
EA ruined Mass Effect
EA ruined Dragon Age
EA ruined battlefield
Ubisoft ruined Assassins Creed
Microsoft killed Flight Simulator
Etc etc... every single game franchise I love and have loved is turning into complete sheite with stupid DRM and rushed products!
Now i'm pretty much waiting to see how they can also ruin Sim City in 2013. >.<
