They could pretty easily fix this too. Just change the base level of the readiness from 50% to...idk....75%?

I want to know how modding single player to get all endings hurts Bioware or EA in any way that gives them a good reason to ban people from playing a game they paid between $60 and $80 for.

Using the stupid IOS app is a complete cop-out too. The Galaxy at War mini-"game" in it is complete garbage.

Even after maxing all of the initial upgrades, you can barely keep pace with the readiness decay unless you're on your phone every 6 hours without fail. Sleep and work? **** that.

The second set of upgrades costs over a THOUSAND TIMES the first set of upgrades.

Yes, being forced to MP is horrible and turns any fun I could have had with it into GRINDING.

yeah that'd do it, personally I think it should be 100% with MP boosting it to 150% if it has to be involved at all

I think it would be better to just remove the EMS in general. It has no place in a RPG. At least they fixed the horrible alignment system from Mass Effect 2 and made higher level choices possible depending on your reputation bar instead of if you play a RPG by only click upper right every time, how that can be RPG is beyond me.

I actually enjoy the online co-op. It's fun, but it's getting repetetive now.

As for the issue at hand, I think the best solution would be to have the N7 missions in the game boost that Shepard's Galactic Readiness % by 25% in each zone, so that if you do them all you can bump it to 75% overall in single player alone. That's high enough to get a high EMS even with making some bad choices. Although, overall, I think bad choices should result in bad results, so GR% shouldn't be boosted too much.

I did most of the side quests too. But I think I missed one involving Kasumi? Anyway, I never got nearly enough ems to get the perfect ending. In all fairness, though. It doesn`t take that much time in multiplayer mode to raise it quite alot. Still...it should never have been a factor in the single player game at all. Whoever came up with this deserves...an arrow in the knee!

I don't think they lied. I just think that Bio thought that the best ending was the synthesis one, since that is the main end choice that requires the most EMS to unlock. On the other hand, many fans (including myself) consider the 'best' (meh) ending to be 'Deep breath' - which of course isn't an actual ending, just a little bonus to one of the existing endings.

That said, I agree with everyone here. I am royally pissed off that I cannot access content that I have paid for, because I will not or cannot play multiplayer or use the apps.

*sigh* It's a shame, because I actually really like the idea of the GAW, and having all sorts of things tie in (even if I won't playing those different things). I'd be fine with certain battles being more difficult without enough war assets, or even with different worlds having a better/worse outcome depending on EMS. But being denied the only Shepard Lives ending is completely rubbish :(

If you ask me if they are going to lock you out of content for not having multiplayer they should sell a single player only version of the game that doesn't have that content on the disc in the first place and costs $10 $20 less. People shouldn't have to pay for content they have no way to get at.

Actually, they should charge $20 more, since they'ed have to create a special version for only a small percentage of players.

Why I would be getting less content. Movie companies put out both DvDs and Blu Rays and the DvDs cost less because they have less content on them. Why can't video game makers do the same?

I agree.

I don't do so well with multiplayer. I get so...nervous? And, its SP game. Why force that down everybody's throat?

Ha!

That reminds me of those stupid virtual pets that came on a keychain when I was a kid.  if you didn't feed and clean those things ever few hours they "died' so every time I did school work or went somewhere my pet would "die' on me.

I really thought we would be beyond that type of cheap thing in 2012.

I agree. Ever since I heard that multiplayer was going to tie into single player it's been a concern of mine that it's going to be impossible to get the best ending for single player a year or two from now because the MP will be dead.

If they can't patch it out at the very least can they give us a single player version of MP that we can play to raise our galatic readiness and EMS.

Or they could not lock us out of our own game just for patching single player. I agree that they shouldn't let people patch multiplayer because that is not fair to other human players but who is hurt by my using a save file editor to patch my SP file so that I have enough EMS points? How does that hurt other players,EA,or Bioware?

The multi-player is very frustrating. I tried it and I spent more time waiting for a match to start than actually playing one. Then I lose my connection to the server a lot. Too much pain and not enough fun.

They need to get rid of the multiplayer requirement.  I realize it is possible to get the necessary EMS for a "perfect" ending without multiplayer but it limits your choices severely.  If I have the desire to play this game years down the line (if the ending is repaired) I want to be able to achieve a good outcome without multiplayer (which will be dead in favor of a shooter or other venue).

Edit 3/29 12:03

It has been revealed that it is not possible to get the 4000 EMS necessary through singleplayer alone.  All the more reason to get rid of the multiplayer requirement.

Again whether you enjoy the multiplayer or not is immaterial.  The multiplayer servers will be shut down someday making it impossible to raise your rating and getting the Shepard lives ending.  The fact that MP is in the game is not the issue merely that the MP has consequences for the SP.

LOL who would want to play and have to endure that ending ever again, not I.
