Just take out the new character. Introducing a new character that most people hate in the last ten min is pointless.

Change. The ending needs to go, there's no point in clarifying it.

How about all three.
KEEP Everything that happened, regardless of the ending happened.
You end the game back on the Normandy and take a step backward. Everything that happened from right before you attacked the base to the end was a vision (from who, TBD).
CLARIFY what the vision meant through consultation with any/all characters available.
CHANGE how you plan to fight off the Reapers with your knowledge of what's to come. Protect the Citadel and keep it from being moved to Earth. Evacuate and destroy it to eliminate the Star Child and make the Reapers vulnerable.
Maybe build in an element where the Reaper made of Protheans breaks free from the Reaper mindset upon seeing Javik, the first time a Reaper has seen a member of its previous race upon the next reaping.

I think, if this poll goes on long enough, it's going to end up looking a lot like _Martyr_s' poll- http://social.biowar...06/polls/28989/ It's a pretty safe bet that most of us don't want the current ending "clarified", we want it taken out into the back 40 & put down, because that's what you do with broken horses...

Especially if that "new character" does not make any sense, uses circular logic, and doesn't fit with the rest of the ME Universe.Kathleen321 wrote...

Closure... simply put there was none to be seen or felt.

Voted change. Clarify is not only useless but also insulting toward the player base. We got the ending, it doesn't need to be clarified, it needs to be changed.

Honestly I'm not sure how you'd do that without also removing the "ABC" ending as well.

The "ABC" endings could be transferred to the console, or they could be presented by Harbinger. The problem with the "ABC" endings is that we don't really know their implications, besides the color of the explosion. They are essentially meaningless to the player.Ronin1325 wrote...

Change.
Star Child = Deus Ex Machina = Poor writing.
If they don't know how to end it they can take a few more months, fans can and will wait but they have to stop being stubborn with this nonsense.

Starchild = represents a break from the plot, broken logic. Seems more appropriate for a dream or indoctrination sequence.

I would destroy the current ending, but I would settle for clarification

Bad ending. Kill it. I think the reasons I don't like it have been beat to death by dozens of other persons and threads, but to summarize some of the biggest problems:
Too many huge, obvious plotholes.
Limited choice between three virtually identical options.
New, unknown, and critical character added at the last moment.
No closure to an otherwise fantastic and engrossing series.
I really have no idea how one could "fix" the ending without performing some sort of "director's cut" with the game, because I think the damage has already been done and "clarification" seems like it's not addressing the root of the problem.
I'm planning on waiting to see reviews of any DLC that is released, even should the DLC be free. I no longer have the urge to play the game that I did before the final 10 minutes of the game. I'd rather just spoil everything with 10 minutes of reading than waste a few hours of my life only to be disappointed in the end *again*.

In a perfect world, I would want them to change the ending as there are a lot of things about the current ending that I dislike and don't believe can be made "better" no matter the amount of clarifying.
HOWEVER, I'm willing to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt as they've proven that they are capable of crafting an amazing story. My thought is that something got lost in translation when they were finalizing the game... or that working on it in an environment where everyone constantly knows every small detail and factor that affects the ending might have made them falsely think it would make as much sense to us as it did to them.

Either change the ending and relegate SpaceBrat to a bad case of food poisoning or some such or BW will lose all credibilty and claim to Artistique Integrite.
...and for those who like the ending just the way it is, don't buy the dlc - you got what you wanted, so just shut up and let the rest of us who care about story telling continue to demand BW live up to its own reputation, the standards it has previously set, and the endless promises they have made to the fans.
