-Not that easy if you do not feel like giving up your entire life, species and everything you were and had.

Not easy for the kid not knowing the "other side" either.

Kids should be smothered in love. I know some protest but I really dont give a ****e. The world is a horrible place and most kids will realize that soon enough. Childhood is for dreams and fairytales. For fantasies come true. For love and cuddles. Its the only time in our lives where we can afford to live like that.

Really? I doubt the Asari culture is so different from ours that moving to their place would mean "giving up your life". Judging by Ilium in ME2 and Thessia in ME3 they seem like a place where humans can live.

As for loving your children: The Asari dont seem like a culture who dont do that to me; and for "living a fairytale" in childhood - can there be a better place for that than amongst aliens with "magical" powers!?

-Any culture that has such a long lifespan, compared to that of humans will have a considerably different approach to alot of things. Time isnt that much of a factor when you have plenty of it. Shepart will be dead inside a century (tops) and thats when his child has barely escaped childhood. Sure humans can live there... But there is such a thing as "homesick" or "longing". I have plenty of griviances about my nation, but I have allways loved comming home. Others have no problem giving up everything and settling elsewhere. Im just one of those. Subjective thing perhaps.

Thing is that any Asari/human relation might work on earth and it most likely will on Thessia or any Asari colony. But on earth such a thing would still be a relatively "new" thing. 40 years ago interracial marriage was still very much a hot topic,,,, still is in some parts of the world. And interspecies marriage? Thats a whole new can of worms.

Its not that I dont trust the Asari. They have been doing it for a long time. I just dont trust humans. We are an agressive, egocentric and xenophobic lot.

True. But unless you are a spacefaring kind of person you wouldnt meet them anyways. If you do, it is safe to assume you are an adventurous person who would enjoy living on a new planet.

That is, sadly, undeniable. It is probably why I would jump on the first availabe ship if there was a chance to live with aliens instead:?

Ye Gods NO!.......:crying::

1. I am hetro female and find the male body and voice extremely attractive.
2. I really don't think blue skin and tentacles would be appealing.
3. The Asari strike me as generally a bunch of self absorbed, arrogent dullards.

Turians on the other hand....hmmmm.

-Ive lived in Japan. For a westerner, even a "civilized" culture that seems so western on the surface, wasnt a place Id want to live. Personal tast for alot of reasons. Just didnt like it. I wouldnt mind the adventure. Travelled most of Europe (no biggie... I live there) and then travelled to Brasil. Ive had brief stops in several third world nations. I like to travel and I subescribe to the words of Hans Christian Andersen : "To travel is to live". But I allways add: "The best part about the journey is comming home".

-Im not entirely convinced "aliens" would be any different. Even in a culture like the Asari, we humans are still a new factor, a new kid on the block.

I dont like too many variables. I like to undestand the culture and the people around me. I think the Asari culture would have several layers of complexity that would put the Japanese "layers" (of which there are plenty) to shame.

Turians are pretty attractive, it is true.

I wish Mass Effect would allow threesome romances so I can have both Liara and Garrus.....

If I was single and childless, hell yeah. During my twenties, I dated many women from different races other than my own. Race was never an issue for me. So the blue skin and tentacle heads wouldn't bother me one bit.

Thing is though I'd me too busy exploring the galaxy to be dating anyone. But I can imagine myself getting dressed up, heading to Purgatory and looking to pull an Asari.

I'd love to meet and interact with them. I love meeting and learning about new people, especially those from different cultures.

As far as dating one, as long as there was mutual interest and attraction, why not? I have personally found that personality trumps looks, good or bad, every time.

I'm a guy... but while I'd jump at the chance to talk to a real-live alien, I can't say I would be interested in actually "dating" once I found out about the lifespan difference. Maybe I'd change my mind, I don't know.

Benezia is actually a 'good' character that just became indoctrinated.

She originally went to Saren hoping she could persuade him to surrender. She was hoping to prevent a conflict, not join one. She just had the misfortune of going to Saren at a time when no one knew what indoctrination was, and before anyone suspected that the Reapers had anything to do with Saren's treason.
