-Really? Id say its anything but "myopic" (thanks for the new word to add to ESL vocab btw) If anything its "myopic" to initiate a relationship with an alien because you have zero idea where it might be going.Dr. Megaverse wrote...

Couldn't have said it better myself.
Except race and gender kinda do count.. in the grand scheme of things.. as well as on the personal level..
That's a rather myopic point of view.
And... Im a guy with 450 years of certified pedigree Id consider it very "myopic" to initiate a relationship with an entity that doesnt allow me to carry my genepool forward. My ancestors would ****** all over me for doing so infact. Not that I would mind people doint what they want... but carrying my genepool forward is rather essential to me.

No, it's myopic to think that because they don't matter to YOU they shouldn't matter to ANYONE.

This argument is valid under the assumption that my point of view shouldn't be the standard for everyone...which is just silly.tbb033 wrote...

As for the "tentacles" they aren't realy - they are like nails growing out of the skull in that particular shape, they are hard and bend slightly.

As a straight male human, I'm attracted by female humans. I know, this is unbelievable.
The Asari are female.
Of course there is that bit about being from another species, and personal preference for your own is understandable.

It isn't just reproductive instict; whether you would or not actually has real psychological reasons behind them and those reasons are varied and can even stretch back to something seemingly unrelated in childhood. I wouldn't be surprised if I dug into someone's psyche enough and found their reasoning for being attracted to the blue skinned girls has something to do with having a very close childhood girl friend and one of the fondest, yet forgotten memory involved a paintball fight or something and she got covered in blue paint. Sort of like how listening to your spouse's heartbeat is calming, the reason is because the first sound you heard as a baby was your mother's heartbeat. It is also why we feel a bit safer when we hear our spouses heartbeat when being held lol.Dyorgarel Inkin wrote...

Sorry, I just love psychology and look for random chances to blab about psychology

-Sure psychology has alot to do with it and sure its intersting how socio/cultural standards become normative... but... again.
I live in Denmark. High proportion of blondes and "blonde-ish" women here. Very beautifull I might add. And yet... I have never ever had an interest in them except for sex when I was a teen/early twenties. Never saw them as "relationship material" And since Im blue blood I can look back at family photos and portraits and see that my ancestory is almost exclusively brown haired, brown eyed. On both sides. I myself procreated with a brunette with brown eyes. Hell despite more than 450 years of uninterrupted lineage on both sides that I can track, I look more like a tall frenchman than a blonde viking. My sons look almost gypsyesque. Brother chose a black haired woman. Sister chose a guy who is dark brown too.
And yes there is the "we choose our parents for spouses" psychology bit, but I rather think that something must have been "hardcoded" into my DNA, and that it gets reinforced by sociology and psychology. Or the other way around.
I can find women of all kinds and breeds very aesthetically pleasing, but I have zero interest in blondes, or anyone not with a "continental bloodline" if I might be so bold. So a blue skinned woman, or a woman who had radically different DNA would likely not fetch my interest.

So make a deposit at the local sperm bank. Problem solved.

Right. As if I would procreate by proxy or not take responsibility for my own offspring and then have the balls to deny them their heritage and lineage.
Besides... Denmark has one of the highest numbers of Donors and Danish sperm is in high demand the world over. They dont need me
