If the objective is to drop as many of the enemy in as short a time as possible, then why not execute quickly?
My question is that since the game does not provide status information of other players, you have no idea if your teammate needs an assist or not. If they are confronted by an enemy and have full shields then leave them to it, but if they are in danger of dying, help. Unfortunately unless you've been able to hear the audio queues ("shields down") you don't know.
I think the game UI/mechanics could be improved to make it easier for players to work together.

Maybe they grew up playing Ocarina of Time?

It's healthy to explore the mind of a newbie once in a while. Remind me that I've been there as well, when people do strange things.

The Sisyphus - Attempt to revive under turret. Use medigel. Attempt to revive under turret. Use medigel... But usually under a brute. Happens too often.
The Flank-defender: This guy seems to be pretty useless, as he is not firing at the same thing the rest of the group is firing at. He is occasionally seen "dropping by" to help with a particulalry tough enemy, then he's off again. Sometimes, he will come running back, firing in another direction than the rest. Turning that way, you see incoming Geth Hunters, Pyros, Banshees, Brutes, Phantoms or Guardians that would otherwise have moved in to flank you and wipe the group. After you've helped him take care of the group, he's off again. When he dies, he is always found relatively close to the group, but rarely on top of them. On hacking-objectives, he stays within the circle, often facing a different direction from everyone else. He doesn't contribute much to the stop the main group of advancing enemies. Almost every time on Dagger.
Sometimes:
The Symbiotic Siblings - Pulled this off today. Was so fun: These guys form a perfect partnership. They quickly discover that their powers form an excellent combination and proceed to dominate the match side-by-side. The brother sets up the blue sparkles by means of Warp, the sister makes a nice 'splosion out of it by means of Throw. Boom booming everywhere.
The Last Man Standing - Today, I ended up with the entire team dead facing eventually three Atlases, Four Phantoms, and lost count of the Nemeses. It was awful... "don't fail! They are all watching you!" I used a rocket on a Trooper when I panicked. With everyone watching. Really embarrassing.
The Lone Wolf: Usually if I'm having a rival Infiltrator. Infiltrators bring out the worst in me.
The Eyesore - Unlocked all the customization options? It's showtime: Occasionally. Green faced Quarian!
The Sniper: Goofing off on Bronze: Don't worry about that banshee closing in on your position, he's got the two cannibals on the other side of the map lined up for a 2-for-1 kill.
The Boulder - Goofing off as Krogan: Instead of taking cover or finding a vantage point, this boisterous specimen likes to strafe around wildly in the midst of the team while firing wildly at the oncoming enemy and catching explosive projectiles that would otherwise have sailed safely past.

The Brotarians
Usually when there's two Batarians in a game, one of them will use their heavy melee toward the other one in between rounds. The other one does it back and an idea spawns: BROFIST!
They will spend all of the time in between rounds to try a synchronized brofist and they will achieve it.
Side effects may include starting a round a little late and maybe some more punching then there needs to be (everything is a bro, especially that brute charging you).

Also sometimes seen running out of the circles when the group is being overwhelmed only to appear behind the enemies pulling some heat off those in the circle.

I've run into this guy on three separate occasions recently:
Don't Need a Team Guy: A variant of the lone wolf, this guy's only interest is killing stuff. Even if you fall and are bleeding out right next to him, he will fire at nearby enemies relentlessly and when they are gone, will leave you to die and run off in search of more stuff to kill. He will rush toward any fallen teammate, but only to kill whatever killed them and then run on. He doesn't try to complete objectives, and in fact even if he is the last man standing, he will run around and kill enemies until the timer expires and the mission is failed.

Also am the person who will use all their grenades on the first tougher enemy (brute/bashee/group o' pyros) and/or proceed to let the other three battle that single entity, leaving my combat drone as support while I take care of all the other enemies in the vicinity.

Maybe they grew up playing Ocarina of Time?I know I'm not the only one who rolled everywhere in that game. Too bad that doesn't actually make you go faster in RL.

The Marathon Man
Maybe his shield is gone or you just revived him but for whatever reason he is off. He amazingly manages to traverse the whole map dodging every enemy while his shield recharges only to return to the group like a man who has journeyed through the seven levels of hell.
Omg me when I'm a Drell. Thank goodness for the 20% movement boost.

You forgot to mention a couple of rare types of player (but not that rare actually).
The economizer: He's usually a good player over the match but he conceals his true nature over the first 10 waves.
You find yourself on the ground bleeding along by other 2 team-mates and he is the last
man standing. It's wave 10 and he has to kill the last enemy to achieve the objective. He has like
200 cobra missiles stockpiled but he does not use one. He eventually dies and doesn't use
medigel to revive himself. Match lost and you are like wtf
The die-hard: He's the last man standing during a fail Reaper match on wave 5 and finds himself surrounded by 2
banshees and 3 brutes. He uses a medigel to revive himself and you think "mh ok give it a try".
He dies after 1 second. He revives again, dies after 1 second. You think he will eventually surrender,
but he keeps spamming medigel until they're finished

I'm more like the
The Bad-mojo: He's an easy going flexible person, trying his best for the team but no mather where he goes bad things happen. A grenade long lost and forgotten he will walk straigth into. When using a rocketlauncher to kill 2 banshees his rocket will fly right between them hitting the wall on the otherside of the map without kills. Every turn he makes, makes him run into a geth pyro and when backing up while shooting a banshee will lead him straigth into the charge of the brute attacking other people. On the first waves never follow this person because he will keep the side where no enemies come from and when he turns to reïnforce the other side he will get shot by the single mob that did spawn on his side right after he turned away.

Man of Few Words- Joins a lobby with a mic, but even though other people are talking, he has nothing to say. Usually heard coughing, adjusting his mic, mumbling about Phantoms, and telling his dog to be quiet.
This one made me laugh a lot.
I'm not sure which I am. I do my best to revive people, but I try not to charge headlong into certain death to do it. I do sprint around to make sure to complete objectives when those are up. Maybe I'm
Average Guy: Shoots bad guys. Revives teammates probably. Clicks widgets, hangs out in hacking bubble. Enjoys a refreshing beverage and kicking back in a comfy chair.

The Silver Promotion guy - He gets into a team of randoms and finds that they managed to survive the Random Cerberus enemies without anyone dying and thinks that they are ready for the big leagues and switches it to Silver...without telling anyone that he did.
Cue game start and the unknown enemy this time are Reapers. Everyone starts panicking when they see Maruaders and Husks on the first wave. People quickly check the scoreboard and see that its rank Silver. Most of the time, people stay and this guy grows confident. Halfway through the game everyone consistently goes down except for the one guy, being the only one smart enough to use missiles when 2 banshees and 3 brutes are chasing him or 4 ravagers are shooting at him at a distance. Then comes the extraction wave, everyone is still alive...until that one guy gets one shotted by a banshee and the wave of brutes and bashee close in and kills the rest of the team. In order to save face, He then immediately leaves the group so no one will know he was the leader.
Right after the guy who consistently stays alive asks "Why the hell was no one else using missiles?"
===============
yeah...that pretty much what happened to me last game. I was using a Krogan Sentinel with Claymore X and Saber II...testing a melee and lift grenade build...didn't go so well...and i hate these guys. <_<
lol funny it happened to me twice yesterday, was just starting a new sentinal level 2(with crappy weapons except for the M8 level 8-WTF, always this in the packs) saw the bronze coming in the click ready and notice silver, didnt go well after wave 3.
Then now level 4 get caught in again and everybody else other than him are all below 10.
Usually I'm the flanking defender unsung hero until everybody leaves and then gets shot in the back lol.
