You can't.

Unless you a) replace their textures in the .pcc (or via TexMod, which I haven't seen anyone do) with custom ones which allow colouration (this is doable in theory with the right tools) and then B) mod them in as part of the normal modular armor (ie. the N7/Rosenkov/Armax mix-n-match).


Actually, if you search for defender in the project section you'll find quite a few custom texmods.

This is one that I made that is the digital camo from the BF3 MP armor sans weird orange glow.

And is it custom colourable? Can I apply a custom primary, highlight, secondary, pattern, and lights colour?

EDIT: Also, searching 'defender' under Projects turns up nothing.

No, but the original question was how to change the color of the Defender armor with mods... now I suppose that could mean in-game mods, but I took it to mean out of game mods since this is the modding thread. Sorry about the mix up.

When searching, make sure you change the status to the blank option. Apparently a lot of modders forget to set their projects to "released" when they are finished.

Has anybody figured out how to change shepards melee?. ie give infiltrator shep a biotic punch instead of the taser

I was wondering, to what extent can this game be modded? I mean, I have seen the lists at the front and they seem relatively small changes. Would it ever be possible to mod in more speaking parts? Or a mission? Or even new models?

I am curious as Dragon Age Origins saw a number of such mods, but I've not seen any for Mass Effect at all.

Sorry to let you down, but Bioware hasn't released modding tools for Mass Effect, therefore creating entirely new content like missions or more dialogue isn't currently possible.

LOL taser. But I don't think that this is possible, most likely trapped within .PCC files, which we currently can't unpack and repack successfully. If this was possible, I would love to utilise the Phoenix Vanguard's melee from Multiplayer, a whiplash attack.

Sadly, most of our modding wishes are curbed because of this one file type.

The full gun isn't part of the DLC, so you have to be connected to MP to use the Rebellion guns. They probably did it this way to sell us the guns as SP DLC later.

Wish someone would add all the old armors and some squad's ones.  This would be just too much work for me right now.  Also it is hard to tell where he is at in the project.

True, we were lacking for armour components and decent squad appearances.

One thing I'd like is to see the various ME2 characters in more suitable clothing. Like, why isn't Miranda wearing her combat armour that she can wear from one of the ME2 DLC's during Sanctuary? There are other examples too.

Well, I did say currently. The project is still unfinished, therefore we still have to wait before we can finally reach a modding breakthrough.

Looking forward to his project as well. :)

EDIT: Read his updates on ME3 Explorer. So what can it do now, exactly? There isn't really any official post stating what the program is currently capable of. Someone want to explain?

You can look in the .pccs and DLC files, extract the individual files and there's an option to 'replace' them with others. But meddling changes the file sizes (as they are normally compressed) so you have to alter a file which logs how big they are for the game to adequately use memory.

Somehow I think it's not such a big deal with the vanilla installation .pcc files, but the DLC ones appear to be checked for 'authenticity' (aka DRM) every time you start the game.

Just a quick question on modding weapon mods

I'm wondering if its posible to mod the color of weapon mods that change the color of the weapons.

Example -

SMG Ultralight matirials 3 (changes body color to green.)
On the N7 Hurricane it changes the body color of it to a nice earthy olive drab green.

SMG Ultralight materials 5 ( changes body color to black.)

Now at at rank 5 all the weapons depending on mods will make all the weapons with a Black body and red lights. Is it posible that I can change the color order around so that At rank 5 I can have that nice green color on my N7 Hurricane SMG and what exactly would I have to look for in the coalesced to change it.

If you scroll back a few pages, someone tried it earlier but I'm not sure how it turned out.

Off the top of my head, try exploring the data of the individual weapon (bioweapon > sfxgamecontent ), the weapon mod (bioweapon > sfxgamecontent), or possibly the bioweapon >sfxgame data for the mod/weapon category.

On theory alone, that involves decompressing the .pcc where the hair is, extracting all the files (mesh, textures etc.), then re-implanting them into a relevant and equivalent .pcc file in the other games.

It's all conceivably do-able with the ME3 explorer.

Beware the tool is only partially complete so not sure how well it would go about it.  And there's also the problem that we can't recompress .pcc files yet, so it *may* destabilise either game.  Yaddayadda use at own risk.

This is possible, that i use the Vasir armor from LOTSB in ME3 ? This Armor is awesome and i looking for option for this. :)

Anyway... If i modding the game, is possible to get ban ? I mean here only armors like Vasir.
