Thinking twice before jumping on a BioWare poster (it's good for you)

A lot of people in this subforum lately have been overly defensive to the point where drama is incited where none is needed. A BioWare poster will comment something about a minority of posters, and people who aren't even addressed by said post react defensively. This will inevitably cause some sort of lashing out at some point, and it's not productive to either of us - fans or employees alike. All it does is create and further tension.

Just a few hours ago I was watching the sad withdrawal of a much loved figure from a large community (gootecks, Street Fighter, for those interested). Something he said made me think of BSN. Upon leaving, he had a list of people to thank for all the good times, but he also had a final "**** you" which he didn't acredit to anyone in name. But he said something very similar to, "if you are watching this and thinking 'is he talking about me?', then yes, yes I am." This works the other way around when a BioWare moderator or otherwise post in a thread you're reading. Sit back for a moment before jumping, ponder if it's at all likely (singular) you are being called out. Most likely, you are not. So don't get defensive, derail the thread and muddle the tone of conversation =)

Of course, moderators always have the final say and we all know that. But we're also quite human and take more easily to emotion than logic. Keep this in mind for when that time comes! ;)

And I hope this is on topic enough to stay open in this subforum. If not, I'm sorry! I figured it was about this place so this was where it should be to be seen where it's relevant, is all.
