Started a game as a male dwarf warrior noble, and the 1st NPC you meet for your party (I'm writing this from memory so I forgot his name) will lose his weapon access if you try to give him a bow for the other weapon slots.
The issue is that if you flip to the 2nd pair of weapon slots to equip a bow (or presumably any weapon) for him, the tier 5 melee weapon he already has gets unequipped because it has a strength pre-requisite of 25. The NPC using this weapon doesn't have a strength of 25, so it can't be manually re-equipped.
Suggestion to fix:
If he needs a tier 5 red iron weapon, go ahead and reduce the str requirement and flag the weapon for his use only (like we see with some other notable equipment items for other NPC party members). I don't think he needs a T5 red iron long sword though.
If it's necessary to have him be so powerful (to help ensure the main character survives the origin?), then perhaps raise his strength (and perhaps cunning) while simultaneously lowering his sword material level until a balance is met.
If it's necessary to have him equipped with a fancy sword because the voice over makes the point of how fancy the sword is, then make a fancy grey iron or steel sword to replace it?
The objective is to ensure that the player can equip a 2nd weapon set, e.g., a bow, to satisfy some tactical objectives.
