So I downloaded the character creator last night, made my first character, loggin in via the program, and hit upload on my character, and the screen went darker and the 'Upload Info' was glowing. I heard a lot of people said it took an hour or so to upload so I assumed they were talking about this screen so I had left it overnight. Waking up, nothing had changed, still same screen! Any ideas or anyone else experience this? Somehow doubt my broadband internet is THAT slow, can't take that much time to upload that info to wherever it goes before the social site...
Hung up on Upload...?

Yeah and its real annoying. Does your guys time out after like 30 seconds? I will be logged in and hit upload then it will look like it's churnning and workin then it will say timed out, but the upload info will still blink? Real F ing dumb.

To me it works pretty well (PS3).
I turned off antivirus and firewall, launch the creator, made a character, upload, and in a few second for the first time in days it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!! And now i have the lucky ring, so it still avaiable!!!

What sucks for us console users is we can't use that Character, we not sure about PS3 but I know xbox users won't be able to use their CC character. I will try a few more times this evening, but it isn't worth it. BTW, where was the ring? On your current PChar or the new one you made?

Of course i can't speak for x-box owners, with PS3 each item you have unlocked for free and installed via PSN (items given by Dragon Age Journerys, character creator) will appear in all the current savegame as well as in each character you will create since the moment you installed them.
In my ps3 there are no traces about new character (i think that the passage from pc-character-creator to ps3 need some other passage...........but who cares

The ring isn't even all that good, in fact the stuff I am wearing right now is better than the Lucky Stone, but I still want it cause it's available. I just got the Edge yesterday and I don't use a Rogue, but I wanted it none the less.

The same for me, friend.
None of my all add-on items are better than those i find for a 5-6 level character, it's just that i like collecting them.
Keep trying with the character creator, if it works for ps3, should work on x-box too!

Ring gives a +1 skill bonus to your character even when not equipped I am told, just needs to be in inventory.

See now I really want it. Damn CC upload. I've done everything correct, and its still not working. So aggrivating.

For me (PC version) it seems to work about 1/10 times (you just have to keep trying, and keep trying), although I'm experiencing other issues with it (as my display pic, which is actually my char portrait, might let on).

Did it work? Someone over in another thread said to turn it to window mode or 800x600 and it worked everytime. I couldn't figure out how to get it out of full screen to be honest. I will try that when I get home.

Now it says can't access my online profile storage??? Where the hell is that? This CC is driving me crazy.

Yesterday i tried the 800x600 solution.......pointless.
Otherwise today, with the antivirus and firewall shut down, i manage to upload one damned new character, maybe you can keep trying at different hour.
The lucky stones on my PS3 give the bonus ONLY if equipped, as it should be.

Well it said my character uploaded, but as you can see to my left (or rather, can't see) is that the portrait does not exist nearly 8 hours later...
...any ideas?

PC version, windows vista 64bit.
Start daupdater in administrator mode. Start character creator also in administrator mode. Log in via character creator into your account. Update. Did it for me.

Except I'm running Windows 7, and no daupdater exists for just the character creator (will be using PS3 for the game btw).

Xen, I'm getting the same problems, Every time you retry do you have to customise your portrait again, and then your char's face on it turns choppier until it becomes only fragments as you make adjustments before eventually disappearing altogether? But the background shows up just fine?
Biz, mine's on XP - I ran daupdater, cc, logged in and I see no "update" option? Am I dopey for not understanding what you mean, or did you mean "upload"? Cause that's still not working..

Hey all, I don't know if this is what did it, but after trying to upload my second character several times, I went into my updates and clicked on my character and started looking thru their stats/spells (even though I haven't started the game yet) and then clicked to look at my persona, and low and behold magically BOTH characters showed up (when I never got a confirmation for the second even) and now my pic shows! Can't wait to play this game in 2 weeks when I get home!!!

*frowns* The problem's gone to my main game too, not so much with the portrait but now in my inventory screen, my character shows up in the same choppy fragmented (if at all) manner.
I'm not seeing this "Update" section everyone speaks of. Any pointers? Nothing I'm trying is working

Had the same problem here, clicked on "upload" and after 20-30 sec I got the message about that I had timed out.
The thing I did was to reboot my PC and the moment I got in again I started up the character creator and uploaded my char without any problems.
So my guess is that I had many programs running that interferred with the upload.

1) I had to reboot. One or two failed attempts and nothing would go through anymore, or it would get hung on the uploading notice.
2) Apparently any other use of the connection reads as 'no connection'. That is very poor.
3) The character was improperly saved. I had to re-edit, save. EXIT. Restart, run through the re-edit to get to the last screen and the option to upload.
4) I had to exit, restart, etc. to be able to upload the second character I made as a test for uploading.
Very frustrating experience.

I keep closing any programs/appIications I can identify as unimportant, and like the rest of you have very bad connectivity but after jumping those hurdles even when it finally uploads, I'm still getting choppy fragmented (if any) character in my portrait. And it's happening in-game as well, to any character as I view them in the inventory screen (only in the invent. screen) which is bothering me far more. I don't wanna play it like this
I wanna appreciate my characters and their mannerisms as I should, to their fullest.
I know this is almost a repeat post and a tiny, not even near game-breaking problem (though it sort of is for me), but I'm just praying someone will address this..it's depressing and distracting seeing pieces (and then none) of what you know should be your character moving about as you're looking through items..
