Haha people are such whiners...honestly, what will it take for you to be happy?!

First you b**** about the ending as it stands....now you're gonna b**** if they come out saying it was all planned? Wow....honestly, yeah I'm ready to finish the fight, but at the same time I wasn't ready for it to be over just yet

And all the whole dream/indoctrination....if they planned it, its genius plain and simple, regardless if they didn't expect the backlash....I credit them for having some balls....

You kids that stay complaining either way, are the entitled ones....seems like you only post for attention....

You're only complaining because Bioware may have fooled you and.you're little egos can't take a little twist....f***ing babies

What would make me happy was if I paid 80 bucks for a completed game.

^this, plus I can't acces the internet with my 360, mind telling me how I can get this DLC?

To me, it reads as this: when we clarify the endings, we'll include 5 seconds of footage of Garrus/Liara running back to the ship. Clarity!

And leaving Shep on the ground! Even though she was 6 feet away!

that's just what a true friend would do

If Joker had the time to pick up my squad-mates after WE ALL GOT BLASTED in the face, there's no reason he couldn't have picked me up, too. No way to make that make sense. So unless the end was all a dream, there's not much sense to be made.

Bah... I am gonna be pessimistic here. That probably means that they'll add some cutscene showing Joker and your squadmates freak out and run away, leaving Shepard to deal with the Reapers herself.... >.>

I know what happened to your squadmates:

You may be on to something here.

What if... and bear with me here guys, what if ALL REAPER LASERS are teleportation/time travel lasers?  So they really are preserving organic life when they zap you.  They're just blasting you into the future.  Or the past.  Or somewhere else... another galaxy perhaps?

Reaping is really more like transplanting; they're moving you from this Galaxy, this overcrowded murderous rebellious synthetic galaxy, into another nice galaxy.  Without murderous rebellious synthetics.

there's actually an alien species on doctor who that does exactly that. They zap you into the past and feed off your temporal energy.

Yup the weeping angels.  Scared the icky stuff out of me when they first turned up in the David Tennant episode (which I forget the name of obv)

Arrrgh, this waiting is driving me mad. Must. Know. Plans.

Also, all this speculation and analysis of the Mass Effect twitter feed remind me of this scene from High Fidelity. Obligatory Warning: it features Jack Black, so, there's plenty of cursing. :P

I think they're just going to add a short 10 second cutscene showing the squadmates getting on the Normandy and running away.

Followed by a Troll face and a "$10 has been debited to your account" sign shows up.

That's what I am worried about.

Bioware thinks the community wants "clarification" of the ending.  They will throw in some added cutscenes as DLC and say "we fixed it".

No.  We want a proper ending to the hero's journey.  Its basic story writing 101.

Confirms my one fear in all this. All they will do is add som explanations, I believe the term was "clarifications", which is all good but it won't fix the ending. More and more I firmly believe nothing will be rewritten and the Catalyst really will be in the game. Starbrat represents all that is wrong with the ending, and he'll still be there saying the exact same thing. "clarifications" - really don't like that word

I really think people are reading too much into this. The only thing I do know for certain is they haven't given a solid answer either way.

Pfff... I'm done interpreting cryptic Twitter feeds... In the end, all we can do is continuing to express our displeasure with the Mass Effect 3 ending (politely ofc), holding the line and wait what will come out of it...

Yeah if I had bought this game for my 360 instead of my PS3 I would have returned it written several angry raging letters. Not just because of this possible DLC, but because of Javik and the need for multiplayer.

Yes I'm acutely aware of what I'm saying....you people that are complaining about things that may or may not be true, are whiners.....that's not name calling.....that's fact....b****in and moaning about what Bioware did or did not intend....they've already said they have an announcement in April....maybe you whiners should hold your judgement

Right?  That's clearly what happened here.

So Joker isn't fleeing the battle.  He's using the Reaper laser + Mass Relay for traveling back (or forward) in time where/when he's rescued your squadmates and is jumping back 15 minutes before he left to save Shepard.  Like in Back to the Future where Marty has a time machine but only sets it for 15 minutes before Doc gets gunned down.

It's the perfect plan, no one would know better.  Joker would be a hero.

But the Catalyst ruined everything and broke up the time tunnel.  Stranding them forever... in the past.

As to why your squad is happy?  They know that they're in the past so in their timeline Shepard isn't dead.  Shepard hasn't even born yet.  So all they need to do is get back... back to the future... and then they can save Shepard.

Uplifting!! Hope!!

Everything fits.

This needs to be documented as the first time that they've acknowledged that the ending in the released game did, in fact, make no sense.

This. The ending is intentionally lacking and something of a cliff hanger in itself because it leaves so much wide open, and the only way to get your questions answered? The first bit of ME3 DLC.

Those of us dissatisfied with the ending realise this, it is the underlying kick to the nads about this whole thing, but I wonder about those who claim to like the ending, what they think about the ending intentionally leaving so much out, that to make sense of it, DLC expanding the ending itself is required.

If it was planned, then dream/indoc obviously had you fooled....quit being such poor sports about it....

Cuz if it was planned than it obviously worked because you still have your doubts....

The problem is: We doubt it because we don't trust game developers to put that much heart into a story anymore, not because it is so unlikely by itself. The industry has suffered much in the past years due to the complexity games have nowadays plus the inability of publishers to recognize the developers need time to bring out a polished game.

So in the end the first thing I always suspect is: The developers ran out of time and had to rush things. We had this in KOTOR 2 where there were even code fragments left of the originally planned ending that the community tried to put together; we had Vampire Bloodlines where fans had to patch the game to be playable for the majority of players, etc. etc.. Many great games couldn't be as awesome as they could have been because the developers just ran out of time. Vampire Bloodlines is one of my favorite examples for that because the developer even had to close doors, even though the game is one of the best I've played in my life.

So we are expecting the same here, that's nothing unusual, nothing childish. We see visions and ideas getting destroyed by greed. Visions and ideas that could have been perfected if just a few months more would have been invested.

So even if this was planned in the first place and we get the final conclusion FOR FREE (very important imho), it doesn't seem like the game industry is ready for that. Gamers will expect that it wasn't and feel like they get forced to buy unfinished products.
Maybe they won't lose any customers, but at least a noticeable amount of people who buy their games on the very first day. If the future of the games is to get an incomplete one, LOTS OF SPECULATIONS FROM EVERYONE for one or two months and then getting the conclusion for 10$, then I'd rather buy them when the price is lowered and every DLC needed for the full game experience already out. Even without paying extra money I don't want to wait months just to see how things finally end. It sounds nice on the paper, but it's BS in reality to do it this way.

They have something planned...

Speculator A: It's obviously Indoctrination!

Speculator B: You idiot, it's Space Magic... it has to be!

Speculator C: Actually everything was a dream ever since you got knocked out by that beacon on Eden Prime...

what don't they understand in the word "new" for "NEW ENDING"??! We don't want an explaination of this crappy lazy-ass ending, we want a brand new one!

Let me say this again:

You. Will. Not. Get. A. New. Ending.

You. Will. Not. Get. A. New. Ending.

You. Will. Not. Get. A. New. Ending.

Yow will not get ANY ending that removes what you saw on the screen from the game. Change its meaning? Maybe. Expand upon it? Definitely.

But not remove it.

Deal.
