Unfortunately that does not appear to be the case; my firewall logs indicate otherwise. Their servers are trying to connect on undocumented inbound ports, confirmed by doing a dns lookup to see who the IPs belong to, and the ranges are very sporadic as noted already. As also noted, not just by myself, most consumer grade hardware and software firewalls open all outbound ports by default. You must explicitly close outbound ports if you do not want them opened.

None of this has worked for me. I have turned DMZ on and off. I have manually opened the forwarded the ports and made sure the updater is turned on in the services section. I have taken the router right out of the network and still nothing. Last night it said I had all 3 of my DLC unauthorized. I took the folder out of documents and tried again. It redownloaded some patches or something. Still couldnt connect. I totally uninstalled and reinstalled the game and still no connection to their servers. I put my backup of the bioware folder back documents and now all DLC is authorized but the Wardens Keep. Not sure why that is but thats 2 out of 3 now authorized.

I even went as far as running a trace route to the ip is shows on the log in my router for the 18081 port and it gets completed with no issues. 18081 is the only port is shows activity on in my log. Weird thing is it dont show any incoming log activity but maybe it wouldnt since its not seeing my request? Whats weird is I can see online on the social network that I have completed the WK since I have the achievement but it is still not authorized and It still says I am not connected to the internet.

Any help would really be appreciated here.

Ok I understand opening up ports on a router. But in my case, I'm not using a router. What then?

I still can't login.

Not sure what exactly happened on my end. I have a small time ISP and have had issues with him and games in the past. I called there today and left a message with all the Port info that I had and asked them to check into it. I got home tonight its now working. Checking the router log I have other ports that are being used by DA so Im not sure how they work with them. When I log into their servers I see port 9946 being used. When I log out I see port 18081 being used. Hope this info helps others out.

I am only routing through my cable modem, and can't get DA to recognize I'm online. I've turned off windows firewall + kaspersky, to no luck.

I find that I am able to connect, and download DLC, but my profile is never uploaded. Bioware has been completely clueless in trying to resolve the issue.

This is just plain silly. After having no problems except for the magical "now you see it, now you don't" DLC stuff, I now find myself a part of the "The game tells me I'm not connected to the Internet when I actually am" crowd. Is this some bizzare new type of social networking that we are being exposed to?

I haven't changed any settings at all. No router/port problems. This problem has been actively complained about for over 2 months.

No wonder PC gaming's taking a hit. Bioware: This is pretty damn poor.

Yeah, I have to rely on wifi where I am at. I dont have access to change any of those settings. So what do I do? I guess I will live without the extra content.

I've only had dragon age for little while I'm using T-mobile Web and walk internet stick. I installed Dragon age and I registered it here and added points onto my game I also installed some projects (add-ons) I found some glitches in the game that I couldn't solve so I uninstalled the game hoping to quickly solve the problem "Bad mistake" I lost my saves and settings and now I can't seem to sign in the game It says I'm not connected to the internet, I've read most of these threads and tried for 2days to solve the issue I'm getting no where.

List of things I've tried

Disable the firewall

reinstalling the game

I don't have a router or modem so should I port forward? if so how??

I'm using Windows 7 64bit.

Please help me I do struggle with technical stuff

I followed the advice given in this topic, yet the game still doesn't recognise that I AM already connected.

And the funny thing was, at the bottom left of the screen at the menu, it still said I'm logged in. When I tried to log out, it just told me to log in.

If anyone could give me a detailed description of how to fix this (I'm computer noobie), I'd be most grateful.

Alright, after following the advice given in this topic, and after a few several logging, logging out, and relogging in, etc, it worked.

Don't know why it just did, but it did. Hey, I'm not complaining that it worked anyway.

Thanks for all the helpful advice given!

After I have tried all that that has been described without solution to the problem, I have found the solution reading this page:

http://www.speedguid...les.php?id=2574

The whole page is rich of important notes, also the section "Gaming Tweak".

I have not opened any TCP/UDP doors in the router and I have allowed that the firewall left the executables of Dragon Age all free ones in all the directions.

My settings are (Windows 7 64-bit): netsh int tcp set global...

rss=enabled

chimney=automatic

dca=enabled

EnableTCPA=1 (setted in the registry)

autotuninglevel=disabled

congestionprovider=ctcp

ecncapability=disabled

Tcp1323Opts=0 (setted in the registry)

I can finally say that probably this problem exists when the connection is wi-fi.

My brother is connected with cable LAN and doesn't have problems of login and profile update.

I hope to have resolved the problem, at least for the greatest departs of us!

I have windows 7 64bit and can confirm that disabling ecncapability in command prompt. Solved my greyed out log in button and DLC issues. EA's server has a problem with ECN for whatever reason.

OK here's something funny with all this. I'm getting the same issues, but my DLC is FINE! How do I know? Easy. Shale's in my party. How can this be?

At one time i too was having the same issues even after opening ports in router then it dawned on me that you also have to allow these same ports through your firewall. after i did that no problems whatsoever

@JonnyLoathing - You were able to log in long enough to get the Shale DLC properly authorized, so it's still working. That's actually the way it's supposed to work (otherwise you wouldn't be able to use DLC when on an airline flight, etc.)

@MDBlackMale - See the DLC troubleshooting FAQ. If nothing else, you may be able to manually download the DLC and install it using daupdater.exe. See also

for a suggestion that has helped some folks (including me)

I have tried everything from adding the ports to be open, to adding a Win FW exception, and the ecn=disabled thing, but nothing works. I still "can't connect to the internet". Win7 64 bit pro here.

yeah well i just wanted to be able to upload some stuff and achievements and i cant login either, i am at school currently, but my windows firewall is forwarded, everything looks good running windows 7 pro, i did the ecn disabled thing and no go, maybe its because i am at school they got a pretty tight security thing with a dedicated router for traffic, might be my reason but i dont have internet at home, bah i'll have to try it from a friends house later...unless anyone comes up with a better sollution..this is lame
