Ryuushin, I had the same problem--I suddenly got kicked out, even though my network connection didn't drop. I restarted the game, but it insists that I'm not connected to the internet.

I'm having the same issue. I assume it's a server problem.

This seems to be something that happens regularly. My guess is that it's a Bioware server issue every time. Been reading these posts for about an hour now and it's been doing this to people for at least 3 months now so just wait a bit and the servers will probably be back up. Very frustrating though cause I just bought some DLC and cant download it now

Add me to the list with the problem. I was playing and got the "Unable to connect" error, and now can't get it to let me log in, even manually.

Yeah, I can't log in either. It won't even let me press the "Log In" button. Really annoying. Sucks I have to be connected to play a game I bought.

at least give us the ability to SEE if their servers are down, not just stumble around in the dark please...
its ridiculous how a game with no multiplayer elements requires an internet connection to play. funny how its usually people who purchase the games who get the short stick. i'm sure people who have illegal versions can play the dlc just fine... /sigh

Annoying problem. I found this thread just now and already reinstalled the game as I thought I've already tested almost everything relevant I found from this forum. Well I suppose it's time to wait and see if problem fixes itself during this day...
EDIT:
Just to specify the problem:
- "You are not connected to the internet" text in the Log In box.
- Gray Log In button.
- Same as here: http://social.biowar...1686414#1686602

Alas, you're just a lowly customer...
It does suck that you need to be connected to be able to play the game. I'm pretty sure here it wouldn't be allowed, with the exception of "activation on first use". But I'm not going to sue them to have them change it according to local laws
I was pretty sure I purchased "Dragon Age: Origins", and not "Dragon Age: Online", although, allow me this pun, it's currently rather "Dragon Age: Offline"

I'm having the same problem too. Can't log in, because the log in button never activates. Haven't seen this before, but it's annoying as all hell.

So,
This is clearly a server issue on behalf of BioWare. Its possible its because they are updating everything for the xpac. My recommendation for everyone is to wait a couple hours and see if it resolves itself. I believe it is directly related to the server specifically for account passwords and logins. I figured this out when I was watching my DLC offers.xml download through my DLC content area after a fresh reinstall but it was saying that I was not connected when I went to log in. After about an hour of extensive work. I.E. making sure every port was open, my firewall allowed access/then was disabled, and making sure that cmd. trick everyone is recommending was in place. I still have no connection. Plus this is an ungodly amount of DA:O users in the last few hours with the same complaint.
BioWare needs a freaking server status page.
Hope this helps

That's what I also thought. Or is it EA's responsibility? Tried to search one anyway but didn't find anything...rdmtthw wrote...

Wtf? How is this acceptable? You buy a game, you can't play it. Damn this

Have all of you tried updating your video drivers?
.. in all seriousness though, EA has the worst server functionality in the world, which is no exageration at all. Any EA published game that utilizes their servers has been plagued with connectivity issues and some even persist till that game is no longer supported. Simply put, they are one of the greediest companies in the world and don't pull punches when it comes to cost effectiveness, they will use the cheapest alternative every time, compared to say Activision Blizzard, who actually pay top notch for maintaining their servers.
They know you will keep buying their products just as much as you know you will, regardless. Tis' a sad cycle but there isn't much of anything that can be done about it.

This is just a load of big woman's pants! I've just wasted about an hour of my precious life faffing about with routers and ports. Couldn't Bioware have informed the "community" they so wish to develop that their server might be down for a while. I even have a community inbox that they could have used. (_8(|) DOH!
