So I am playing a match on silver using the 3 round burst rifle Ravenger I think.  I  use stasis and start shooting at the head and the gun is not dealing any damage at all.  No literally the health bar for the sheild flashes and I use 2 clips and not even one bar is gone.  Is it distance?  Is it the fact I am not host?  It should have killed the enemy no problem at all.  Can anyone explain why I didn't hurt this Nemisis?

You de-sync from the host. Did you notice if you could grab ammo at all? It happened to me once, I was running around, shooting things to no effect, and couldn't refill my ammo.

Seems like a connection issue to me :/

Come to think of it the server did kick me off 2 nights ago twice. I never have connection issues, I stayed connected to xbox live and I always have an open NAT (easy thing to fix). And I use a wired connection straight to modem, no middle man (or router).

It is extremely common with stasis. It takes time to register that the enemy is no longer moving, and during that time the enemy will be in a different location than what you see on screen. Headshots can totally miss. I have unloaded nearly an entire carnifex clip into the head of assault troopers and done 0 damage with enough latency issue. The best you can do is host, next best is to wait 1-2 seconds after casting stasis to fire shots.

Well it does take more than a few seconds to go through 2 clips of ammo. It should have started to register damage after the initial clip. Could it have been the hosts connection?

There are no servers.
This is Peer to Peer (P2P) gaming, just like how multiplayer used to be before servers and how it is on games like MW2/3 PC and most console game multiplayer.
It's appropriate for this game's multiplayer, but completely ridiculous in FPS multiplayer on PC.

You were either kicked before the game began by the other players, or you simply lost connection to the host, which is different to connecting to Live or PSN.
They have servers because they need them. When gaming, you're connecting to whichever player is "Leader" AKA Host.

The only other server involved is the EA server, which again you're only "kicked" if you're having connection issues to that server, or it's gone down for maintenance.

Happens a lot. What you are shooting at is in a different place on the host system than it is on your screen. When you throw a homing ability like Warp at it you generally fix the issue, and you will see their body do some weird warping around the screen as it syncs up.

Sometimes I shoot at a target, and it doesn't take damage. So I just switch targets and hope someone else kills that.

I didn't say I got disconnect from the game, It said I was disconnected from EA and it could not re-establish a connection to the EA server.  And I was not kicked either, being a level 16 Asari adept with an assult riffle hardly constitutes anyone to kick you on silver especially when I didn't have any "X" marks when we started.  Assumptions are bad for your health.  Everything was working fine I just wasn't doing any damage.

You didn't say you were disconnected from the EA server. You just said "the server".
Plenty of people who still call the host of a game a server, thinking that they're playing on servers.
You also said "the server" kicked you twice in one night. It doesn't kick you, you lose connection with it.

You say you never have connection issues, which is itself an assumption on your part.
As I said, the EA server only disconnects you if you are having issues connecting to or staying connected to it, or it's going down for maintenance.
Clearly, you did have issues connecting to it if it "kicked" you twice in one night.
Whether the cause of the connection problem is your end or the EA server, that's a seperate matter.

As for the no damage issue that you were originally talking about, it's not uncommon.
The simplest explanation is a sync issue between you and the host. I've had it happen twice.
Most recent was when connected to the host somewhere in the US, and spent the fourth round being unable to do any damage, revive or be killed. Half way through round 5 it stopped happening. Turns out I'd been killed by a Geth Hunter from the previous round, because there weren't any Hunters in the fifth round. Sync issue.

I'm getting something like this. I'll start the match and deal absolutely no damage, can't interact with down players or clickies, and can't pick up ammo. This will persist throughout the match. The enemy can melee me, but I can't melee them or use any powers to affect them. I guess you could say...my mass had no effect. :)

I got this a lot over the weekend and then I'd start blinking all over the place and teleport through walls, instantly die with enemies standing over me when there was nothing around me a second ago, etc. I had to host my own games to get rid of this.

Sometimes it happens and it seems like it's due to invisible walls that (space) magically appear. One spot I've noticed is Sanctum. At the start if you go to the left and use the first work station as cover and try to shoot an enemy to the right, it won't damage them.
