Bioware has ONE chance to make this right. They've chosen April 6th as their chance. Frankly, that is way too freaking long to go without any meaningful interaction with the company, and they've made the situation much worse in the meantime, but fine. April 6th it is.

Maybe they'll come up with something genius that really makes everyone (or at least, most of the vocal ones) truly happy again. They made 2.5 good games, so maybe they can figure it out.

But if they simply don't want to...if it's just multiplayer and Omega and whatever...fine. That's their right, I guess. EA's right too.

Over the years, I've had many situations in which I said "I'm never giving another dollar to that company", for whatever reason. The difference is who I said that to. I said it to myself...I said it to my friends and family, perhaps convincing them to hold on to their dollars as well.

The difference is that I never told the other companies. I never told them what they had done wrong, why I was telling potential customers that they are bad, and what they could do to earn my dollars again.

I don't know what the final tally is on how many customers (not fans, customers) are upset over the ending. But if we all just went silently into the night, swearing to never trust Bioware/EA again, but NEVER TOLD THEM WHY, I suspect there would be serious trouble at the company when Omega DLC/Mass Effect 4/Whatever completely failed to reach anything close to projections. They'd ask themselves why it happened, and they might even ask the forums, but we'd all be long gone. They'd never get an answer. They'd never have an opportunity to right the ship.

I'm trying to help you Bioware. I'm a little tired of being portrayed as the villain of this story.

I believe it is also important to remember to Not make yourselves look bad & come off looking like an Angry Mob! Keep Civil! :police:

Which will happen if Bioware doesn't announce something at PAX. They aren't stupid. I can't stress this enough.

What're the odds that at pax they say something like "We won't talk about the ending because we want more people to have a chance to experience it first. Next question please."?

I just hope people are polite and dont bash or insult any of the BioWare staff at the panel.

Also just to state something a Producer in Film is WAY different than a Producer in games, in fact most people have no clear definition of what a Producer is in the gaming world, but he is not "in charge of the money". Extra Credits did a good piece on the Producers role in game development:

The people at Bioware again, aren't stupid. The sales numbers have shown that. They know the game isn't selling well because of adverse word of mouth which is far more powerful than anything a critic can say. The worst part about it is that it spreads quickly.

Furthermore, the problem isn't limited to the North American continent. People all over the world don't like the endings. Bioware really only sells single player DLC to the hardcore fanbase and quite a bit of money goes into that. Investors won't put money into something that won't sell.

The elephant in the room is too big now. The only question now is how Bioware removes it.

Pretty good since it look like if nothing is said at PAX every is just going to give up on Ratake Mass effect.  So really why should they say anything?  By this time next week if they say nothing most people will have given up and gone back to buying Bioware products figuring that since nothing was said at PAX retake failed.  All Bioware has to do is keep quite and they win,so why wouldn't they keep quite?

People keep talking about what Bioware needs to do to win back fans. Our complaints are legitimate, but how we voice them is important too.

Let's be the kind of fans that Bioware wants to have.

Because a very, very large elephant in the room says otherwise.

Because that would be very cool.

Game Producers are more or less the equivalent of movie directors. Espceially the Executive Producer.

That's a joke right??? That's an awful nickname... You know who calls themself/has other people call them "The Gamble"... The 48 year old guy who wears shirts with fractals on it, still gives thumbs up and high fives, says "oh yeah" a lot, and listens to the classic rock station on his way to his job at the local classic rock station...

"The Gamble" is an awful nickname, and I'm glad it got cleared up because I was wondering the same thing... I had watched a video with Mike Gamble in it and I totally thought "This guy actually calls himself 'The Gamble'."

Don't you think that the fact that they are brainstorming right now is a big reason to keep up the *polite and civil* pressure on them?

Because the people who liked the endings won't quit their feedback. (thinking of that, how come that the @masseffect twitter guys retweet mostly on positive feedback they get? It's like a 6:1 ratio. I Hope that is not because there are 6 times more positive feedbacks...)

Even if nothing is said at PAX I believe the Retake Movement will still be around. PAX isn't the only annual videogame conference around anyway. I expect an annoucement, at best case a trailer, but I think one month after the game is released is enough time for them to finally break their silence on this issue instead of placating us with PR statements like critics giving them a perfect score.

They can't keep quiet because the game isn't selling. If the game stops selling they won't make any more money. Sixty thousand people won't get up and walk away. Maybe a couple thousand, but quite a lot of us are in for the long haul. I'm not going away. Are you?

PAX is what the alliance uses to sedate the colonists in order to control everyones moods, an unintended consequend is that PAX reacts with human physiology and either makes people so sedate they just lie down and quit living or it turns them into Reavers. At least according to Josh Whedon.

However, PAX is also the Penny Arcade Expo or something, its like the first gaming con of the season.

Penny Arcade EXpo

It's a video game convention that has grown beyond its origins.

I've got a horrible feeling that this ME PAX event is going to be little more than a patting themselves on the back exercise...there will be a lot of fluff about 'good' reviews, how great the game is and 'oh we have such grand plans, but we can't say anything yet' but ultimately nothing will be said going to be helpful to anyone.

I hope I'm wrong.
