Taboo: just out of curiousity, what do you plan to do in case they decide to stick to their current PR SOP (deflectIon, redirection, doublespeak)?

If they think I'm going to get angry and leave they're terribly mistaken. I'm in this for the long. They'll have to kill me to prevent further peaceful protest. I've put far too much emotional investment in this series to let it die like a fish out of water. Seeing as I haven't been asked to stop and the popularity of this thread, they must not have a problem with what I'm doing. I very much believe in peaceful protest and as a result the producer himself came and made a personal response. No other thread can claim to have that kind of personal interaction.

I will however hold the line while sitting down though or from a lawn chair.

Right there with you lol.

I'll make an addendum to how I feel about protesting tomorrow and while I'll continue to fight peacefully even if they choose to blow us off at PAX.

Sixty thousand nerds won't just get up and leave the room.

Well, I feel like dissuading friends works just as well when done from a lawn chair. Plus it gets the message accross. IMO, 60k nerds 40 sales llst per nerd = 2.4 million sales lost. I feel like even EA would feel that. :-p

You're in plain denial of the facts. That doesn't describe the endings at all.

All you do is say negative comments towards the movement and act like a damn bully!
I have that feeling that if everyone loved the endings, you would hate them, just to be different. I also have a feeling your not a very nice person irl.

This isn't because you liked the endings, this is because you constantly go out of your way to shut down other peoples views. Almost as sad as the ending really..

That was a good read, I enjoyed it. Thank you for posting it, My fear is that the Zealots of the fan base will be unable to control themselfs at PAX. I hope that the majority are the even tempered, level headed ones that bring up as many valid points as they can.

I think Bioware gets the message. I would go to PAX if I could and help out but alas I cannot. Just remember that whatever happens at PAX can't put you into a rut if it doesn't go well. I'm trying hard to rally people into a more positive work force.

Hell, I'd even help Bioware if they asked for it.

I fully believe that Bioware will do something about the ending but to what extent remains to be seen. Given the amount of animosity against them it would be foolish to ignore us. That sounds incredibly ****y but at this point I actually feel bad for them. I feel very strongly in artistic expression but not the kind that alienates people instead of bringing them together. Even the most depressing film in the world should have some well meaning intention behind it. I'll be here waiting in the wings.

Sitting of course.

Wrong again. You are the bullies. You are the gang of misfits that have tried to delegitimize something and ruin it for the people who actually like it. That something is Mass Effect, a great game series that I love beginning-to-end, which I would still love no matter how popular, because I have loved it. I've been a part of this fan forum for some time. I come here looking for other fans and sadly I don't seem to find many,

Aside from your rejecting the game as it's told and asserting its invalidity at a fan forum, of all places, there is nothing... nothing more annoying... than your claim that I am a contrarion for being a fan at a fan forum.

The arrogance of it!

I'll say this with the utmost love for Mass Effect and you other fans: chill the f--k out, people. A: it's a game: I don't care how good of a game it is, doesn't give you an excuse to start fights with other people because of it. B: if Mike Gamble is going to have bad things to say about Retake at PAX, it's because he's gotten so much crap on these forums when he was trying to be nice.

I know it's kind of the point of this thread, but rather than speculate and build up all these wild PR-assault conspiracy theories, why don't we just wait a few days and see what Bioware has to say? If you need to get pissed off, do it after the announcement when you have a real reason to, rather than a speculative one.

This actually has nothing to do with your post, I just have a question for you.

Okay, you know this thread if full of "retakers" or anti-ending individuals, however you want to say it. The title would indicate such, and clearly you have read the posts. It's also clear that you are a pro-ender. That's fine, kudos to you for being able to accept the ending. It would make all our lives happier if we could too.

Now, why would you come on here and post statements that you know are inflamitory? That you know are going to get people worked up? What is the point in it? If I go onto a thread, and I don't agree with individuals posting there, I hit the back button. Debating, I understand. That can be constructive, but out-and-out antagonist arguing is pointless. This is the internet, you are never going to change anyones mind. It never works. So why do you post deliberately antagonist replies?

All you need to be is cool and calm. All that needs to happen is patience. I will state and state again there is nothing more alarming than a person you cannot faze in an argument.

I also do not believe AtlasMickey to be trolling. He has everyone right to an opinion and we should respect that, however much we disagree. However I would hope that he improves his analytical methods as he doesn't always seem to be very clear in his arguments.

Furthermore, should the event at PAX not have satisfactory results I will personally write a manifesto to rally all like minded non-violent protestors. I won't let fear compromise who I am and neither should you.

Well said.  People keep forgetting that these people that they are yelling at, disparaging, and making wild accusations at are the same people who made the games they love, and the only people who can "fix" the ending, if that comes to fruition.  My first response if someone threatens me with demands is to tell them to f--k off; I only respond positively if acted upon positively.  Luckily, Bioware is much nicer than me.  I like reading when people have constructive comments and suggestions.  If people can't play nice though, they should just stay off the forums.

Last post for tonight. My ultimate goal is to rally the people who aren't saying anything, I want everyone to speak up and make their voice heard. We aren't finished yet and I certainly hope I won't have to do anything further after PAX.

BioWare WILL discuss the ending at PAX - I mean, come on...it would be entirely impossible to ignore the elepha-, i mean, ignore the giant Reaper in the room...

Not to mention, I can see them getting booed and humiliated quite a bit if they don't.

Their panel at 4:30 on Friday is SPECIFICALLY for Mass Effect 3, so it's a bit hard to assume that they're going to trot out new DLC plans that don't include an ending fix/change and expect people to be giddy and not pissed off at it.

They're going to talk about their ending plans, and we will have an idea of which direction the ending is heading by this time next week. There simply isn't much else for them to talk about, and they'd be fooling themselves if they think that anyone wants to hear anything other than ending plans at PAX.

I have the same hope.  It's going to be really disappointing if they don't say anything at PAX.  I have to think they'd know that this is when people expect to hear something even though they only said "April."
