Great Post. I'm nervous now, because Gamble is one of the pre-launch " oh we would never do that" group.

Here is my thing i think for us PAX should be a non event.  Bioware has already decided that they are going to just extend the endings and not live up to their words,we have said that is not enough.  We just have to keep holding the line until we get new endings that we don't need multiplayer to get to by not buying their stuff including extended endings and we win. We shouldn't let anything said at PAX(and believe me there will be a lot of attacks on us at PAX and in the press over the next month or two)break the line. PAX is Bioware's last chance to win if sales don't boost after that they will have lost so don't worry about PAX just keep doing what you are doing and hold the line until we win.

In my experience 'producer' in video games mostly means 'project manager'. It's not quite a direct analogy.

True. They can't hold out forever. Eventually someone is going to make a concession and I doubt it will be fifty five thousand people.

The money is though. Money is always the key player.

Well said, and much appreciated OP. It's nice to hear from someone with experience in these fields, similar to how agthunter had outlined the PR response.

Absolutely agreed. Thanks for reminding the community of this... some might be too easily swept up in PR nonsense and empty phrasing that reads almost like a promise. We've been burned by that before.

I'm in this for the long haul, for sure. Holding the Line until all is once again right in the Mass Effect Universe.
With honor, reason, and tenacity.

Good post. Some of these points probably SHOULD be expected next Firday.

Which is my concern. I've been around film producers enough to know what they do and I know that any cost cutting measure can be like crack to them.

More than their actual crack?

I like cheese.

In other news, I'm doubting much will be about the development choices regarding ME3. This will most likely be about MP DLC if ME3 at all, and some other game/s. Listening and responding are two different things and implementation is something else as well.

No way something resolving the reaction is going to be done this fast. However, we may get lucky with an announcement.

I'll keep my hopes super low, focus on multiple things in rl and gaming as usual and take things into consideration as I see/hear of them. That way good news will be something impressive.

About the funding, yeah, frankly, I don't think they really care about anything most fans think, but I do think they care about revenue, and maintaining massive numbers of it by luring the income from us.  This is done by implementing some things our majorities and focus groups suggest. ^.~

Bottom line, this is a business and not an art studio. I personally believe that is the real reason for your ending (stops EA from selling a sequel to another company ^.^), and several other things done throughout, end of story.

Bump. I won't be able to make it to PAX, but above all, everyone needs to remember: be civil, be polite, yet be firm. That's all we need is to come off as a bunch of 'RAAWRRR! Wy dinnnt I get the ending I waannat! Wahhh!' whiners. Emotions will run high I suspect, but again, hold the line and hold the tempers as well.

Nothing is more alarming than a polite firm fanbase en masse. You can't criticize something that gives you no reason to.

No I think they are going to take some swipes at the movement and they are going to trod out the reviews they paid for as proof that we are a small number of people that don't matter and say that the extended endings are all we are getting.  IF we don't cavbe to that we will win if we do we will lose.  Bioware knows that they have chance at PAX to turn things around get us to cave so they are going to do everything they can to do just that. Please don't fall for it just keep holding the line even after PAX.

I have no problems with them keeping the current "last 10 minutes"....just so long as Shepard wakes up in the DLC and finishes the fight....I'm reserving my rage until it is either confirmed or denied....

For now, no I would not like it if they just deleted the current "last 10 minutes" that would be such a b**** move....Bioware is better than that....they WILL NOT delete the current last 10 mins.....they quite possibly could release dlc after it....

I agree however that an epilogue of text, or trying to "clarify" the current ending at face value is just a lost cause and is my hint to begin Raging....taken at face value, I understand peoples rage....I don't take them at face value tho

I still have a faith....and patience until April

We will not be herded into a corner and deemed "minority".
Although if they try to call us that we will know the logic behind why they think the ending is fine.

We can also make it clear that the IT theory is a get out of jail free card. Fans get their input and Bioware gets to salvage their ending.

I fully expect them to have a few paid people in the audiance to say bad things about consumers concerned about the ropey ending..  to make it seem like we are a minority while we are actually speaking for the majority.
