I'd need to see an awesome trailer before I would get hyped by a movie. I'd also need to know that Bioware was really involved.

Has anyone ever been hyped for a video game movie?
Unfortunately I have to admit.... Wing Commander
Ok ok I know, horrendously bad movie, but I still love it, because... well... its Wing Commander and I grew up playing Wing Commander, each and every one, ahhh.... those games had epic endings too!!

Lots and lots of CGI **** thrown on screen, blue eyed beautiful looking people that can't act and a badly written Paul WS Anderson script with vomit inducing dialogue is pretty much what I'm expecting from this movie.
So no I was never hyped for the movie before ME3 but that's because its another video game based movie and to date, I've not seen a good one.

It is tough getting hyped when you know Commander Shepard will be played by whomever is the latest golden boy in Hollywood instead of say Mark Meer or someone who looks like iconic Shepard. Add to that the final moments in the movie when the space child enters and you just want to stand up and leave the cinema. Furthermore, there are so many personal views on Shepard out there that it is probably impossible to portray the Commander on screen. Of course it will all be about special effects and big explosions in space, not story, in any case. Add to that there is not a single movie worth the name that has been made on a videogame to capitalize on the franchise that really is worth watching. And that is provided there is a franchise left after all things have been said and done about the current situation.

Hollywood would just make it a PG-13 and rape it too death anyways

No, I have no interest in buying the movie in pieces.

I wasn't really interested in it from the get-go. My emotional investment is in my Shepard and the people she met and worked with, and how her story resolved. Not some other Shepard.

Who would actually think that anybody would be willing to pay for a movie after seeing how Mass Effect was ruined by this ending ?

If the movie was done in the same way as the CGI trailer and the characters where voiced by the game voice actors, then yes.
However, that is not likely. So no.

Nobody was ever hyped about it in the first place. I hope it never happens. I am hyped about Silent Hill Revelations though... if that ever comes out.

Knowing how EA Operate, We would probably have to buy DLC just to get access to the movie's ending anyway.

Myeah, if they went for a CGI movie and had VO work done by the game VAs, I would be all over that.

I dont think a movie based on me games will work, how can you decide the broshep/femshep LI renegade/paragon, also they need all the voice actor

Too be fair, a lot of video game related movie failures are because of Uwe Boll.

Frank question: how do you know this. People seem to be talking about that it seems low budget, that it's got a bad cast... even that there's a trailer out.
But I can't find anything on IMDB or Youtube. All I could find was some dude being at a press conference with the producer, whom apparently knows a lot about the ME franchise.

I was never hyped for the movie once I heard they were making the games into movies but I would have gone to see them regardless but now I wont. I think making the games into a movie was a terrible idea. It completely ruins all the different decisions that we have made in the games. They should have gone with First Contact War then make Rachni War as a sequel instead of this.

Sure, the story is going to have to be adapted in many ways to make a good movie. After all, they're going to turn a 30 hour game in to an 80 minute movie. But I think that a movie can add a lot to the story. Games need to be fairly task-oriented to keep the players interrest. A movie on the other hand doesen't need a flow of action sequences. Also, there are some things that aren't worth making special animations for. We could get a more in-depth stories of the charaters we like.Legionaire-Shen wrote...

Imagine a scene where Tali makes suit repairs, displaying angst over not being able to do the things everyone else on the Normandy can. Maybe show some of earths bustling cities, full of healthy people, up to 150 years old.

Who was ever hyped for the movie?
Start reading page 3 of that 255 page monstrosity and you will start finding your answer. There were some who were excited to see this movie they announced.
That was not 255 pages of "no" and "I don't want to see it" etc.
Now with ME3 ending there seems to be a lot of "I was never hyped" responses.

My only hope for a movie is that it would be heavily rewritten. I'm not just talking about changing the ending to something less daft, but rewriting how the story unfolds throughout the movie (or trilogy of movies). I'm not sure about ME1 (having never played it), but I can't picture ME2 making much sense on screen without some heavy rewrites.

A Mass effect movie?Hearing the first time about it.
Lets hope the ending dos not sux xD
My bigger concern is that it wont be a Uwe Boll like film and because we are in space no Wing Commander like "das boot" ping scenes.
But Hyped nope.

Was. If the ending stands I just don't care about the ME universe enough anymore to go see the movie. I mean, if if somehow is successful and becomes a trilogy, why would I ever want to suffer that ending again? Even if they changed the movie ending I'd just get all nerdragey because it would likely be a hundred times better than ours.
