This. The way this company has treated their fanbase ever since the release of ME3 is a damned shame.

To be fair, it's not just since ME3... they've been like this about criticism since DA:O, they've just become more exposed because more fans are outraged at this predicament and silencing them would be anything but subtle. It's why this issue alone isn't getting any attention because outside of the big ending complaint it's isolated, and they think we'll forget about it if it gets locked or disappears.

Folks, I have a quick question if someone will indulge me. Has anyone who has reached over 4000 ems by changing war asset values been confirmed to have gotten the scene?

it is just a number so probably...doe snot chnage the fact  that it is 100% false that you can get 4000 or more ems in SP...and I am not sure how perpetuating that falsehood is really helping with "open and HONEST discussion" with the community...

I was curious because I was wondering about how Jarrett worded his post. He wrote that you wouldn't need MP "to get the best single-player endings," instead of saying "all available endings." It was just a thought, that perhaps they had additional endings for MP - but it's probably nothing.

As it is, I'm pretty PO'd about not being able to get anywhere close 4000 EMS...

It could be possible that you can acquire 4000 EMS from single player once more DLC comes out.
I don't agree with this and i believe that people shouldn't have the scour every single inch of the game and still not get access to certain endings.

OP, You can get a higher EMS w/out MP. It's easy.

I have heard it is possible but it requires an ME1 & 2 character import and some very very specific choices made throughout the first 2 games.  I would not call that easy.

iOS apps.  LOL  One is free, one you buy.  LOL.

Seriously, though, I agree.  I feel...mislead on the whole "you can get all you need in SP" thing.

I understand the guys at BioWare do not want to be accused of lying, but it sure doesn't help that Chris locks down threads about the issue without any explanation.

Single player DLC.

What he said. with the combined DLC of the following year I'm sure you can get to your precious 4000's... And don't bother complaining about it, cause just because you think you're too good to play either MP&infilitrator or use the datapad (a free app...) doesn't mean you deserve to get double points...

Getting maximum war assets was supposed to be easy?

so people without interent hooked up to their console to play MP, or anyone with that owns a  non Iphone think they are too good? Are you really that clueless?

I wouldn't even go there.

This whole app business is just another glorified way of "getting to know our customers better". In other words, to build a more accurate marketing profile.

Holds true for any app by any company for that matter.

You are missing the point. The claim is that the optimal ending, which I'll assume to be Reapers Destroyed/Shep breathing, is attainable via a first time playthrough of the $60 Single Player game is NOT TRUE.

NO ONE should be forced to play MP, wait for future SP DLC, OR, install any Apps to achieve the best ending to a game... It's just sleazy cross-polination on EA's part.

@Master Che I can't play the iOS apps as I don't own an iOS device and I would rather lop my arm off than feed the facebook maw.

@harrier25699 I have an imported ME1 and ME2 character but no joy. People who have analysed the ini file that contains the WA values have proven time and again that 7200 WA is the max achievable in SP which with the 50% no MP penalty (aka Galactic Readiness) means 3600 EMS => no extra content

@Solmanian Who asked for easy? I've scanned every damn system in ME3 and imported roughly a galaxies worth of minerals from all the scanning I did in ME2. We don't want easy, we want possible. What we were promised is no SP unless you want to.

Yes, I did get the scene.  (Paragon, with ME1 and ME2 import character) My problem was that I was at around 3600 (or some odd number close to that) near the end.  I knew I was only to get one more the asset at the Cerberus base and it was not going to be enough to get me to the 4000 so I played some MP with some really great ladies here.  I got my readiness up to 98% and then finished the game.  Received the "extra scene".

I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to complete a second playthrough with the game guide to see if I can get 4000 EMS.  Trying to make sure that I did not miss anything.

I too would love if someone at Bioware or someone who has obtained 4000 EMS (w/out MP) could perhaps give me a guide with the the war assets and there worth to help me out.  I begin to think it may have something to do with decisions from previous games.  I.E. I saved the council in turn reducing my Alliance military strength -perhaps these decions affect the overall outcome???

Edit:  I'm not sure what you mean by "changing war asset" - I'm playing on xbox so there is no changing anything.  I got my EMS through playing alone.  Sorry if I did not answer your question.

@Queenie4000 your experience is fairly common there is no known way for you to hit 4000 EMS w/o MP I'm afraid. Portia was requesting whether someone who has editted coalesced.ini has tried to get the ending, I haven't tried this yet but I'm starting to think it'smy only option.

@Portia Cousland I've seen others report success with this method in the massive 50+ page thread in the spoiler section so I'm inclined to believe it is a simple mathematical gateway

The problem is the assumption. Or rather, the problem is that Jarrett Lee may have been making a different assumption.

Though since the thread title is whether his post is "accurate,"  rather than whether he's lying or some such, it's safe to say that the post is not accurate. I don't think ME3 even has an optimal ending in the first place -- they're all flawed in different ways.

To be fair, they've received a fair share of death threats, profanity, and various types of grotesqueries flung their way. Both sides have not handled this well...not even a little bit. It'll only get worse before it gets better as the saying goes.

Unrelated to your post:

Used a coalesced editor to give Allers some xtra points...that got me to 4k, and shep breath ending. /shrug multiple playthroughs and attempts to get past the 4k threshold have failed nicely.

You will find those nutjobs on every board on every topic. But they're not the mainstream. People going postal about something are a minority and they're also a minority here.

And that's not why they're keeping quiet. Nobody seems to be interested, but I say it again. That's usual corporate procedure. Jarrett Lee said something pretty noncommital and I learned since, he's a PR guy. So he probably has chosen his words very carefully, probably with the help of his whole department.

They won't say anything on any matter until the question is resolved internally. With a business that size, no single person can simply speak their mind. They're speaking for the whole corporate body and everything they would say would be perceived as such.

Cheers for confirming that a quick coalesced.ini edit will sort this for PC users such as myself. Xbox and PS3 users are still stuck alas
