Still it actually worked out for them. After they brought back classic they started "the real thing" advertising campaign that played on images like I just described and finally started to reversePepsi's gains.

Which interestingly enough proved that if you **** up, you can go back and fix it, and you will be forgiven except by the most bitter and spiteful little pricks.

Precisely.

Oh, how far a little apology will go.

They brought back classic but the funny thing is that Goizuetta the CEO never admitted he messed up. He kept drinking the new formula until he died. It's also funny that they didn't kill the New Coke product until years after he died. Goodness we found a guy with a bigger ego than a video game 'artist'. Do we get a prize?

But yeah, people will forgive if you are humble or people will let your egotistical snobbery slide if you make it right.

I did find that interesting when reading up on it.

There's really not a whole lot anyone can add to this.

BioWare doesn't want to change anything, and without proper editing tools (as much as I rail on Bethesda for creating flat and empty worlds, they deserve mad props for always releasing a Construction Kit for people to dabble in) the fans can't change anything, either.

We're stuck with this shit, whether we like it or not. Damn shame.

Sorry the EC didn't change anything for you man, it made the game worth it to me...

I guess it's time to move on to Pepsi.

You're right, as much as I hate to say it.

Luckily, I have this saved for posterity. I'll eventually get bored of this and request a lock.

Seriously?

That's the entire point I'm railing against. I didn't want Pepsi in the first place--I wanted my goddamn Coke classic--or, in this case, decisions that mattered.

Judging by the size of the EC, noting that it's only slides/cinematics and noting the fact that it's the maximum size a DLC that Microsoft allows for their consoles and I think it's fair to say that this is about the best we can get. At least the choices we have are at least different now. It's a middle ground. We just have to meet them 75% of the way.

I'm not going to take pity on them for something that a) could have been a multi-release and B) should have been in the motherfucking game in the first place.

I'm not asking you to. I'm just explaining the situation and saying that I'm okay with it. I totally understand why people aren't though.

What I fail to understand is that burning desire to take a stand for a faulty product. It would've been something else if the writing had been superb and thus free of massive plot holes and cheap cop-outs - but it isn't. Far from it; it creaks and leaks on all sides.

If it's not taking a stand just so you won't have to admit that you screwed up, what then?

People were lied to, misled about a product, had something that they totally loved changed in the last ten minutes after having it be the same way for eight years, had to deal with arrogance from the people who changed it and their friends in the journalism industry, were told that they were being listened to but saw none of the changes they suggested, were mocked by fellow players, are being criticised by people when they complain about the ending because BioWare fixed it, are starting to realize that customer loyalty means nothing to game developers, wasted 3+ months of their time and energy, feel like they wasted AT LEAST $180 and AT LEAST 100 hours

and to top it all off they'll never get the results they want.

So yes, I get it.

The one thing I'd like to add to that is my puzzled face as I try to figure out why the hell any of this was even nescessary to begin with.

Good for you. I'm genuinely happy you understand.
