That's actually kind of insulting that they refused them... but cool they gave them to those in need.

I respect that rather than throw them away, they gave them to the needy.

Nothing wrong with that. The message still got through.

I updated the OP with Mr. Priestly's quote from Gameinformer.

Today, we received the 400 cupcakes you collectively sent us through your donations to express your feelings about the endings of Mass Effect 3. We want you to know; we are indeed listening to all fan response and acknowledge your feedback. We appreciate creative and thoughtful attempts like this one.

The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.

BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities, as such it was decided that rather than passing out the cupcakes to staff or wasting good food, to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day. Thank you to the fine folks at the local youth shelter for accepting the donation and to the fans who donated the cupcakes.

Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3, we’re still listening.

No one else noticing this? Nobody else at all?

Yeah I'm still forming an opinion on this response.  I mean I realize it's all good but...gathering data....thinking....

I'm glad they gave them to the shelter, but a little bit angry by the middle statement.  I mean, this is exactly what got me aggravated by the vocal minority.

I'm taking this the wrong way...

Hurrah for cupcakes.  Good job to all involved.

I don't know how I feel about this. On the one hand, it's good that a bunch of kids at the youth shelter are going to be recieving these cupcakes. At the same time, their reasoning for doing this seems to be a slap in the face to us. Anyone else feeling this way?

clever bioware, doesn't taste the cupcakes instead delivers all the cupcakes to charity...(weren't they supposed to taste the same as well?[if so in effect what they sent to bioware were 400 of the 'same' cupcake only to be sent back out?])

Anyone else slightly INFURIATED they managed to squeeze in a backhanded ****slap to us even while graciously accepting the cupcakes and giving them to charity?

Oh this wasn't in the spirit of celebrating the game so trollololol SERIOUSLY?! REALLY!?!

No. I was more focused on the fact that homeless children were in for a treat. A rare one. A heartwarming gesture.

I want one. =/

But then you'd be eating the terrible ending, and that would give you indigestion.

I'm also in agreement. I'm glad that homeless kids got the cupcakes, but the only reason they were given away was because they weren't celebrating the game. Normally I wouldn't get pissy about this, but that seriously irritates me.

I think irony would be a rather delicious word at the moment.

Bioware was given three choices...
Blue, Red, or Green and guess what!
They picked a fourth option.

Now Bioware all we ask is for our fourth option...

I'm not sure what would ever give them the impression they(whoever donated) was sending them as asspats. Didn't the original organizing thread explain it as a protest against how crappy people found the ending?

ETA: and I'm happy the kids got the cupcakes, no matter what BW thought about the motivation.

That was exactly my feeling....maybe we're reading too much into it?  But I take it they are twisting it for their benefit?  Nah...they are saying they did it on behalf of the community.  I need to calm it down and just respect.
