At least our message was SEEN and HEARD and ultimately WENT TO A GOOD CAUSE!

"We want you to know; we are indeed listening to all fan response and acknowledge your feedback. We appreciate creative and thoughtful attempts like this one."

"The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team."

Translation: Thank you, We get it. But we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings."

"BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities, as such it was decided... to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day."

This is a major WIN all around.

PR at work again...refuse the cupcakes thereby basically refusing the criticism then donate them to charity so nobody can complain without looking like an ****.

Or maybe i'm just a big ol cynic.

Yeah except anyone who attacks them for giving to charity will of course be a jerk, whereas everyone and their mother was justified taking shots at us when we donated to childsplay because we were lolspoiled and dragging children into it as a shield.

Quelle surprise.

Bioware didn't want to pick from A, B, or C either!

That's exactly what I got from this, even they didn't like their own endings...

I think it was sad that they at least didn't keep a box as feedback or whatever and just ate it, but no since it's not constructive criticism we cannot accept it, it cheapens the whole effort honestly because instead of accepting a box in good grace or something, they just sent it all away using the "not constructive feedback" bs.

I'm glad for the teens that will get this, i'm happy for the support his had, and for the gesture, but denying the cupcakes on the principle of feedback is just a really petty reason, it would have better been omitted.

We need to send them a Marauder Shields cake now. Can they turn away one cake?

No one else noticing this? Nobody else at all?

I just took it as a tongue-in-cheek way of saying "We get it"/

I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised they didn't want the cupcakes. They were a physical manifestation of Bioware's failure.

They haven't internalized it yet mentally, and they probably can't stomach doing it physically either.

This should be a newspaper headline.
"BIOWARE REFUSES TO PICK A COLOUR. CHOOSES HAPPY ENDING INSTEAD."

Hey how about the people saying we're offended little children got the cupcakes chew their cud for a bit. I don't care that kids got the cupcakes. Infact i'm glad. What angers me is this:

The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. So first of all, the only criticism you'll accept is POSITIVE? Not even -constructive- criticism, but it has to be GOOD. No saying bad things, that hurts our feelings? No one gives a **** about -OUR- feelings.

I think irony would be a rather delicious word at the moment.

Bioware was given three choices...
Blue, Red, or Green and guess what!
They picked a fourth option.

Now Bioware all we ask is for our fourth option...

This. This right here. You are being tweeted, good sir/ma'am!

They aren't using this as a shield. And fyi, I was glad that RTME achieved so much on behalf of sick children.

ROFL! Oh my god, I didn't even think of that. Awesome.

Would have been good if they tied to donate them and one of the kids started glowing and said "No, You can't"

"we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team."

No **** sherlock, Anyone could have figured that out simply by reading the first few posts of the original thread...or just a cursory glance at the cupcakes themselves. I sincerely doubt that you had to discuss whether they were meant satirically or not, or I hope you didn't.

But

In any case, they certainly don't seem to appreciate what we've given them, so it's in our best interest to...Provide clarification

YES THEY WERE MEANT TO SATIRE YOUR TERRIBLE ENDINGS.

THAT WILL BE $10, THANK YOU.

Unless the cakes were laced with drugs that made them change their minds about the ending, being given to charity is the best thing for them I think.
I would've gone one step cheekier and had one of the following words written on each cake in frosting: "The", "Ending" and "Sucked" :bandit:

I'm tired of getting goddamn PR double speak every time we try to engage them on this. They could've just said "thank you, we gave the cupcakes to children :)" But they just HAD to stick in that backhand slap about it not being "Celebratory"
