I think irony would be a rather delicious word at the moment.
Bioware was given three choices...
Blue, Red, or Green and guess what!
They picked a fourth option.
Now Bioware all we ask is for our fourth option...
ROFL! Oh my god, I didn't even think of that. Awesome.
Would have been good if they tied to donate them and one of the kids started glowing and said "No, You can't"
I still can't get over the fact that giving cupcakes to kids is a happy ending.
BioWare compromised our artistic integrity.

The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.
No one else noticing this? Nobody else at all?
Noticing what, that he said they're delicious and claims they didn't eat any

I'm not sure what would ever give them the impression they(whoever donated) was sending them as asspats. Didn't the original organizing thread explain it as a protest against how crappy people found the ending?
ETA: and I'm happy the kids got the cupcakes, no matter what BW thought about the motivation.
It's called 'being disingenuous'. It is helpful in assuming an attitude of moral superiority.

This should be a newspaper headline.
"BIOWARE REFUSES TO PICK A COLOUR. CHOOSES HAPPY ENDING INSTEAD."
I can only imagine BSN in unison; "MUST BE NICE!" Rejecting the three colors and all.

"Because it was not the praise/celebration we deserve, we gave it to a local charity?"
So if it had been something praising their efforts they would have eaten them?
Somebody tell me it doesn't work out that way....

Bioware is giving cupcakes that are blue, green, and red... But the kids don't know they all taste the same.
The cruel cycle continues how could you Bioware!

He's a BioWare employee who ate the cupcakes so that BioWare employees wouldn't eat the cupcakes.

I think they misinterpreted the gift. It really was a celebration of Mass Effect, but it was a bit of a razzing from their fan base. If they chose not accept it in that vein that's a bit disappointing.
This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.
If you can only hear negative feedback prefaced by someone telling you how great you and your products are ... I mean .. wow. I love Mass Effect, and I can see ignoring the really, really negative stuff, but if everything needs a bow, ribbon and a love song ... wow

Update: According to Gameinformer, because the reason fans sent the cupcakes wasn't to celebrate ME3, they donated them to the local Youth Shelter on behalf of their fans. Here's the quote from GI:
Community manager Chris Priestly posted the following statement on BioWare's forums:
Today, we received the 400 cupcakes you collectively sent us through your donations to express your feelings about the endings of Mass Effect 3. We want you to know; we are indeed listening to all fan response and acknowledge your feedback. We appreciate creative and thoughtful attempts like this one.

BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities, as such it was decided that rather than passing out the cupcakes to staff or wasting good food, to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day. Thank you to the fine folks at the local youth shelter for accepting the donation and to the fans who donated the cupcakes.
Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3, we’re still listening.
They refused cupcakes...

First they didnt DESERVE those delicious cupcakes in the first place. And it seems like they understood that and have enough integrity to act accordingly.
And second they didnt throw them away but gave them to kids that actually DO deserve them. And hopefully they will enjoy them.
I didnt see anything untrue in their response to the delivery and I think they for once did the right thing ... then again you can only fumble so often ... they had to do something right sooner or later

I think I can understand Bioware's decision. I mean, the idea of the cupcakes was absolutely brilliant (still is), it was a very positive way to show our distate of the endings. "We rage because we love" in short. Now if I was a Bioware employee I'm not sure I'd enjoy eating a cupcake that I only got because a mass of fans are currently devastated about ME3's endings. Giving them away to charity was a nice gesture.
Agreed. I also like the cheeky attitude there.

is a wonderful gesture by BioWare and an incredibly shrewd move. We are
all very happy people are enjoying the cupcakes.
Stop trying to twist what people are saying.
The
issue I have is that BioWare shrugged it off and twisted it around.
They gave the credit to the fans sure, but by not accepting and just
putting it off they are deflecting this.
What they could have
done was accept with maybe a touch of HUMILITY instead of having
including a shot at the upset fans. And THEN they could give to Charity
on their own.
They could even say our fans sent us cupcakes so we feel more deserving people need the cupcakes.
It's not the action; it's how they are saying it.
EDIT:
Bah. Maybe I'm reading the message wrong.
Good job all around
