I think irony would be a rather delicious word at the moment.

Bioware was given three choices...
Blue, Red, or Green and guess what!
They picked a fourth option.

Now Bioware all we ask is for our fourth option...

Agreed, I am not unhappy the cupcakes were donated, kids need a special treat, especiallay underprivelged ones, but the wording of that letter was... yeah Ill just leave it at what others posted and made an addition to my sig

I think I can understand Bioware's decision. I mean, the idea of the cupcakes was absolutely brilliant (still is), it was a very positive way to show our distate of the endings. "We rage because we love" in short. Now if I was a Bioware employee I'm not sure I'd enjoy eating a cupcake that I only got because a mass of fans are currently devastated about ME3's endings. Giving them away to charity was a nice gesture.

I think everyone can agree with that.
But come on, the irony of them not being bound by the choice to pick a coloured cupcake is hilarious, I'm still laughing here.

The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.

No one else noticing this? Nobody else at all?

Noticing what, that he said they're delicious and claims they didn't eat any

SPECULATION FOR ALL:wizard:

He's a BioWare employee who ate the cupcakes so that BioWare employees wouldn't eat the cupcakes.
It's Catalyst logic!

Wait! The article says there were 402 cupcakes. He says there were 400. Two are missing! He is as evil as his reputation!

Too bad I didn't get a fourth option when I got an ending that didn't celebrate my hard 'work and accomplishment' in ME3. It's a subtle but important aspect in determining my satisfaction with the game.

First of all, nobody is arguing that giving to charity is bad. It is a wonderful gesture by BioWare and an incredibly shrewd move. We are all very happy people are enjoying the cupcakes.

Stop trying to twist what people are saying.

The issue I have is that BioWare shrugged it off and twisted it around. They gave the credit to the fans sure, but by not accepting and just putting it off they are deflecting this.

What they could have done was accept with maybe a touch of HUMILITY instead of having including a shot at the upset fans. And THEN they could give to Charity on their own.

They could even say our fans sent us cupcakes so we feel more deserving people need the cupcakes.

It's not the action; it's how they are saying it.

Not even that! It could've been a simple tweet, "Thanks for the Cupcakes, we gave them to a Kids Shelter :)" and everyone would go awwww and ask for clarification and Bioware would be like oh well we thought these kids could use these treats more then us and then people would go AWWW again

INSTEAD.

Why is everybody so upset? It wasnt celebratory! It was a way to get in touch with them and show them how bad they f*cked up!

I wasn't the mastermind behind the idea but that is certainly not how I interpreted it. I hope that was not what made Bioware turn them away.

I can see Bioware did this. And it doesn't really bother me. But giving away a gift generally isn't considered polite. Ballsy move.

I think it's pretty hilarious that they turned them away. But then again, if they accepted them I guess it would mean they are admitting the ending is as terrible as we think it is.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Bioware offices and hear what is going on there; not to hear what's going on with the ending dlc, but figure out if this PR is a reflection of everyone of the company, or just a few higher up individuals. It would be fascinating if I wasn't so frustrated with them.

The shleter should have turned the cupcakes away claiming that they didn't want their shelter to be a vessel to support a cause.

Good lord, BioWare. Didn't want to accept the cupcakes because they weren't sent "for the right reason"? They weren't sent in an ass-kissing fashion, so you're too good for them.

Whatever. At least some kids got a treat. They'll certainly appreciate it.

How ironic. Bioware decides that they don't like this and take the fourth option... <_<

If only we had the same option...

PR spin, should be used to it by now.
Regardless of that it's a moral victory for us and hey some kids got some cupcakes.
I got no cupcakes mind you, so it's a bittersweet ending.

I read it and laughed to mysellf.  The only feedback which will be passed to the team is feedback  that is in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the team.

Glad to hear it!
