I think irony would be a rather delicious word at the moment.
Bioware was given three choices...
Blue, Red, or Green and guess what!
They picked a fourth option.
Now Bioware all we ask is for our fourth option...

How ironic. Bioware decides that they don't like this and take the fourth option...
If only we had the same option...

First of all, nobody is arguing that giving to charity is bad. It is a wonderful gesture by BioWare and an incredibly shrewd move. We are all very happy people are enjoying the cupcakes.
Stop trying to twist what people are saying.
The issue I have is that BioWare shrugged it off and twisted it around. They gave the credit to the fans sure, but by not accepting and just putting it off they are deflecting this.
What they could have done was accept with maybe a touch of HUMILITY instead of having including a shot at the upset fans. And THEN they could give to Charity on their own.
They could even say our fans sent us cupcakes so we feel more deserving people need the cupcakes.
It's not the action; it's how they are saying it.
Not even that! It could've been a simple tweet, "Thanks for the Cupcakes, we gave them to a Kids Shelter :)" and everyone would go awwww and ask for clarification and Bioware would be like oh well we thought these kids could use these treats more then us and then people would go AWWW again
INSTEAD.The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.

I wasn't the mastermind behind the idea but that is certainly not how I interpreted it. I hope that was not what made Bioware turn them away.CingCoCo wrote...
Why is everybody so upset? It wasnt celebratory! It was a way to get in touch with them and show them how bad they f*cked up!
I can see Bioware did this. And it doesn't really bother me. But giving away a gift generally isn't considered polite. Ballsy move.

Today, we received the 400 cupcakes you collectively sent us through your donations to express your feelings about the endings of Mass Effect 3. We want you to know; we are indeed listening to all fan response and acknowledge your feedback. We appreciate creative and thoughtful attempts like this one.

BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities, as such it was decided that rather than passing out the cupcakes to staff or wasting good food, to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day. Thank you to the fine folks at the local youth shelter for accepting the donation and to the fans who donated the cupcakes.
Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3, we’re still listening.

Somebody should make a banner about this:
Bioware Cupcakes Decision
When presented with A, B, or C cupcakes, even Bioware selects another option.
In all seriousness though, I'm not sure what fans who dislike the ending can do under Bioware's rubric. So far, they've been criticized for donating to charity and sending cupcakes, that seems the most mild protest ever. I think the PR people made a mistake when they articulated that standard. If people don't feel they have any constructive way to complain about the ending, they're more likely to do the stuff Bioware doesn't want them doing.

This jammy bit here is nothing more then a backhanded PR ****slap buried in charity, the kind of charity -we ourselves were insulted for doing- when we were accused of dragging kids into things and using them as a shield. I do NOT like being talked down to, let alone by people I -PAY-.
