They did. That's why they gave the cupcakes to people who really deserve them.
Agreed. Seriously, was anyone expecting Bioware to accept the cupcakes? What they did was better than just throw them away.

Why is everybody so upset? It wasnt celebratory! It was a way to get in touch with them and show them how bad they f*cked up! They recieved it. It got media attention. Im pretty sure every single guy there knows why they got those cupcakes and what they looked like. Actually Im happy they rejected them this way:
First they didnt DESERVE those delicious cupcakes in the first place.
And there it is. Retake failed once again to try and look good in the public eye. You guys could atleast hide your plans before being exposed before they even work lol

BioWare did the right thing, and a lot of poor children are happy as a result.
Great idea, great response. I've not seen a a fanbase this dedicated to a developer ever.

I think irony would be a rather delicious word at the moment.
Bioware was given three choices...
Blue, Red, or Green and guess what!
They picked a fourth option.
Now Bioware all we ask is for our fourth option...
ROFL! Oh my god, I didn't even think of that. Awesome.
don't forget that they didn't eat the sweets, because the reason they were sent to them was too bitter.
BW doesn't like bittersweet...

I think the line that bothers me the most is the one about only feedback that 'celebrates their work and achievement' will be sent to the team. Wow, what a brilliant way to run a company and MANAGE A COMMUNITY. So I guess we won't be getting anything in April then. Maybe more Starchild?

Alright some people are having trouble following me so i'll break it down.Today, we received the 400 cupcakes you collectively sent us through your donations to express your feelings about the endings of Mass Effect 3. We want you to know; we are indeed listening to all fan response and acknowledge your feedback. We appreciate creative and thoughtful attempts like this one.
The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.
BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities, as such it was decided that rather than passing out the cupcakes to staff or wasting good food, to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day. Thank you to the fine folks at the local youth shelter for accepting the donation and to the fans who donated the cupcakes.
Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3, we’re still listening.
This is the full message.
This is the good part of the message. Bold mine.

Can you see the difference? It still works as a complete statement doesn't it.
Here's the part I removed. The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. This jammy bit here is nothing more then a backhanded PR ****slap buried in charity, the kind of charity -we ourselves were insulted for doing- when we were accused of dragging kids into things and using them as a shield. I do NOT like being talked down to, let alone by people I -PAY-.
Nailed it! Why they continue to be so hypocritical, and inulting, I have no idea. It's not helping their cause. Bioware needs a new PR department. Just one disaster after another.
C'mon give it a rest. We send them a message that, in it's essence, wasn't very nice. Their reaction is absolutely okay and understandable. I hate the ending and the waiting for a clear statement just like the next guy, but I can't blame them for that kind of awnser this time.

Actually I think Retake succeeded in expressing their opinion in a creative and funny way. And Bioware responded in kind.

Seriously, this could have been handled way better, but instead I see this as another notch in the "Bioware doesn't get it" category, and I am even further convinced that the ending dlc is not going to fix the ending.

I mean, seriously. All they had to do on this one was post a silly response like, "We got your message. Very creative! Looks delicious but we think these would be better placed in the hands of some kids that deserve a treat. We're discussing what to do about the endings and will keep you all posted."
I swear, when video game historians look back on this whole thing, it's going up there with great game disasters of all-time. Every time they've been given a way out, or an option to reconcile with alienated fans, they've chosen to alienate more fans.
(*facepalm)

Christ....nobody is complaining about giving to charity. I can't speak for others but no, I didn't think they would eat them. I'm really glad they gave them to kids. It's wonderful.
It was how they handled the situation. They spun it around, gave more PR double talk, and had a jab at the fans. Zero humility. Zero respect. It's how I took it. They could have responded and sounded less like a PR machine...

Really? Because as far as I've seen Retake's goal isn't expressing their opinion, they do that 24/7, its to get a better ending which is something I don't see them getting
